TR3Roadster Very nice looking bike! Could you please tell me what brand saddle bags and mounting brackets that you used. And did they bold right on? Thanks
Has anyone heard whether the new Red haze and Blue are going to be available to the US dealers this year for sure? Has anyone heard anything for sure (or seen any besides the the ones in the UK)? Thanks!
I just picked up a '12 matt black! Love it! But the foot position will take a bit of getting used to. Probably nothing that some engine bars and highway pegs wouldn't fix though. I'll admit that the round mirrors are going to have to be replaced too. They remind me too much of my speedmaster. The power on this baby is freakin' intoxicating though!
Good luck with your new bike!! I recently got a 2011 Roadster. Once I got used to the foot peg position, it's no problem, just gets a little getting used to.

The riding position is the main reason I wouldn't buy a Roadster. Some have swapped with owners of Standard/Classic who prefer the Roadster set up (gawd knows why). You're right about the Mickey Mouse ears too. I ditched them because of the awful visibility in traffic and got some ovals. Welcome (again); good to have to on board.
just picked up my new rocket roadster today, in a red and black haze and what a bike, rides a dream, and the riding position is great more control. love it, and the best bit is the fuel consumption is better. love the bike

That's the point about riding position; some love and some hate it. We're all different. I want a cruiser and others want a street fighter or a tourer. You'd reckon that as the pegs are mounted to rails, Triumph would be able to offer a few options re peg location instead of saying "This is where you get them; tough luck if it doesn't suit you." At the very least the older rails/set up should be available from the factory.
Picked up my '12 R3 three month ago and LOVE IT. Put on the low backrest/rack and still have to mount the hiway bars, I will also be putting on the oval mirrors to see better. The power is awesome, the most I've ever experienced. It handles like a dream too. I only had a choice of matte black or phantom, and I took the phantom. It gets lots of second looks.
