I just finished breaking in a 2011 Rocket 3 Roadster and couldn't get the power and torq performance I was expecting. I ride at 4000 to 5000 FTASL. Had the dealer remap the fuel for gasoline w/ethonal as they thought that might be the issue. Some improvement but nothing like my 2006 Rocket 3. This roadster is not as sponky through the gears and when you try to push it past 115mph shifting from 4th to 5th at around 5500r's, it won't hold the torq and just studders around 5000r's and won't pass 120mhp. Otherwise, it runs smooth and without a miss.

Any ideas on what else we could look for as a problem. ECM? Fuel Map modification?

You don't think they could have put the Rocket 3 Touring motor in my Roadster?!

Appreciate any feedback that may help trouble shoot this.

WSRVR.....Your problem seems to be related to how the base Roadster tune handles the secondary throttle plate settings. In 4 and 5 gears the throttle plates are 100% open to 4600 rpm and then begin closing to as low as 33% open at around 5500 rpm. Also the stock bike is speed limited to 125 mph. Check these threads from the Roadster forum and you should find most of the answers you are looking for: http://www.r3owners.net/rocket-iii-roadster/7304-some-numbers-roadster.html and http://www.r3owners.net/rocket-iii-roadster/9980-roadster-upgrade-process.html........ Good Luck, Jerry.

Mine does well over that! I have had it up to 150 MPH and still hadn't hit the rev-limiter (set to 6600 rpm).

Have you used tuneecu to change your speed & rev limiter. speed is like 129 MPH, and rev is like 6400 rpm from the factory.

bagman, jagrocket,

Thanks for the info. and tips. I'm not familair with the ECU tune system, but it sounds like a good start. Can either of you direct me to where I can get the USB cord and maps to work with my R3Roadster?

Roadsters are not really Rocket III's ... they are clones. We all know that clones are never as good as the original. ;) LOL

The exhaust is pretty cool though. :D
