It has black forks like 2011 ABS Roadster,.
If it has ABS still equipped and ABS warning lights in Tacho/Speedo it is an early engine replacement with CANBUS instruments, loom and ECU. If it has no ABS warning lights in instrument cluster it could be a 2011 Roadster with an engine/ECU, loom and instrument swap change to non-Canbus and the ABS is inactive or removed.

Picked up a 2011 Rocket 3. Both the previous owner and the carfax listed it as a Roadster. It has a silver engine. A guy told me in another group that it isn't a Roadster because ALL Roadsters have black engines. Any takes or info on the mat

I have a Roadster with a silver engine . I think all the early bikes had silver engines and black ones after 2012 . I prefer the Silver engine

9/10 times when these get dropped the engine is totalled as it usually rips off the casting mounts for the running boards / controls.
What I see here is a engine replacement due to a crash in the past done on the cheep or the owner at the time approved the color of the engine swap. That or a trans issue but that can be fixed without changing the engine. Who knows but yes black appears to be the correct color for this year model.

I have a Roadster with a silver engine . I think all the early bikes had silver engines and black ones after 2012 . I prefer the Silver engine

Ah, Thank you for letting me know . I always thought it was called the Rocket 111 Roadster from ist inception, but i see it was simply called the Rocket 111 in 2004
