2006 Tranny?

Mine has the # **3735C3***these are the Numbers that are indicative of the build date(according to the dealer)if you can believe them.
When it comes to the trnsmission I would monitor the seril numbers engraved on the engine block to be sure. Newer modes such as yor 2011 have the newer gears in it. Infact the 2011 Touring transmission I have on the shelf has the new gears in it. So if you have any problems it will be mostly liek the roadsters which are operator induced bent shift forks.

No, all you can really do is look for tell tail bearing pieces in the screens.
Well metal in the sump may indicate a problem...:D With a video inspection scope would you be able to inspect various components inside the engine. I ask this in order to (hopefully) prevent a catastrophe.

I have used the scope for various thing like taking a look see at the cylinders, pistons and valves. I also used it to set the timing on the crank with the blower cover in place. I have found it to be pretty usfull on my Sprint ST not to mention other various non motorcycle related items.

I have a need for one for work and this will give me the final excuse to buy one "for work".;)

Thanks mate I am feeling better already ,but will still be "gently Bentley" with the 2nd gear work:thumbsup:

My dealer "parts guy" sent me to the "service writer" who didn't really want to help with the Update Kit so much as charge me 16 hrs or so plus parts. Thanks to help on the forum I was able to provide them with the part# and after shipping total was $227.00. There's spark plugs and wires in here! all kinds of stuff I swear the box looks like a bag of halloween candy! 4 pages of parts 30 pages of instructions, i'm so screwed. digging thru the box I can't find any actual gears? i'll keep looking the parts list says 2nd gear output. I thought the update kit was only tranny but apparently triumph updated many things. My dlr said Triumph had 5 kits last week, I don't know if that is how many before they run out or ya have to wait for them to put together another kit. Anyone know a good mech looking for side work?

my "upgrade kit also had spark plugs, leads, cam chain new guides, and everything one can think of that fit the 3x1x1 feet sized box and that is still cheaper for triumph rather than recalling bikes to replace the faulty output shaft bearings which call for 25 manhours of labour!!

There is only one gear and a spline dog ring look harder it should be in there. Mine were in the big box inside the kit.

yep, 1 gear, the spline dog ring, and at least 30 ziplock bags of stuff. is that a new wiring harness? If anyone has completed this task did you follow the 30 page instructions or are the tasks randomly stapled together? is it worth doing everything? My dealer said they picked the bike up with the forklift. The 16 hr quote must be for the tranny alone and I fear much of triumph's updates wont reach my motorcycle if I let them do it, I really respect any of you that do this work yourself.
