2006 Classic kickstand from different angles...

I mentioned in a different thread that the kickstand (the part with the ball on it that is used to kick it up and down) is different on the 2006 than in previous years. I noticed the stark difference when parked next to a friend's 2004 Rocket recently. I haven't experienced any problems catching my pants leg on it.

Anyway, Slartibartfast asked for pictures, so here they are:

Good question for a dealer. In the meantime, I'll be sure to take a real good look. Tomorrow is bike nite and there should be a couple of other Rockets there.

Thanks Curt. That's too simple! move the protusion to the end of the stand out of the way! I can see a few cut and weld jobs going on here. I see no reason that it wouldn't retro fit. Surely the new "standard" RIII's have the new stand also?
