2006 Classic clutch works until it is warm

As Warp looks his first thought was for a 06 who and whats been done to the clutch. Or is the one of the first clutches fit on a 04 installed on a 06 to keep production line rolling.
Not know the answer I copied a couple pictures from this thread.
Firts the bike in question. I have never seen a lifter shaft with no center hole and no visible splines and center hole for manufacturing showing. Like in the third picture

This makes me wonder who has been in this motor trying work on the clutch.
Another thought that popped in my mind is if they were in it did they stack the clutch right or is on of the smaller Inside diameter fibers interfering with the anti shudder spring and seat. Then well it also sounds like some of the steels are warped and kind of grabbing as she warms up. With the clutch kind of grabbing and rotating the input shaft a we bit could make it hard to select gears and shift.

I'd spend the few hours and open her up for inspection.
In my opinion this should be done verses all the trial and error testing that could be hurting something in the gear box.
Sorry it took so long for me to notice this thread.
LOL, I guess a quick update is in order. This bike has been heavily modified. It was built in Ken Wheeler's shop (wheelersperformancedotcom), belonged the dad of one of his mechanics. It has ported/polished head, high compression pistons, air box delete/K&N intake, carpenter exhaust, manual adjustable cam chain, o2 delete...so while it may have had the clutch worked on, I would be very surprised to find out it was '04 parts put on to keep it cheap. I will be putting it up and pulling the clutch cover off, but after all my reading and research my gut feeling is that I did it to myself by not having the clutch properly adjusted.

Ok so first you need to decide on saving the oil by capturing it in a clean container or you can jack the bike up in front and put jackstand under the front of the peg rails. This will move all lower oil to the back of the motor. Myself I would drop it . (good oil is cheaper than good triumph parts )
If you are looking for short cuts I would say do not remove the front wheel, mud guard, and brakes. Put thick bath towel over mud guard to protect it from accidentally bumping it with the radiator and scratching the paint. That will save you a couple hours of wrenching. Now to drain radiator fast and not lose part alignment do not remove lower radiator hose. Put drain pan under water pump and loosen the 3 water pump cover bolts a couple threads. Take a look at the bottom two bolt location on the cover. You wil see a pry spot by each of the bolts take a screw driver and pry the cover to release the fluid fast. After its empty remove the 3 bolts on the cover and leave the cover attached to the lower hose and the lower hose to the radiator. You'll like it being in the right alignment spot when you go back together with it.
These few short changes will save time. If you end up having to take the engine out you can go back and pull the wheel and mudguard.

Now all thats left is pulling the radiator and then the second coolant pump hose by taking the pipe off the engine block one bolt off the clutch cover. Remover the hose from the upper block by prying it out . It has a O-ring around it so its snug but easy. Once you pop it out take the waterpump out the same way it has a O-ring on it too. Once it pops loose you'll be able to twist it back and forth the work it out.
Then well its time to pull the cover so you can have a look see. This will also allow you to find out if it has the updated components in her or not.
Take pictures it will help you when you go back together.
I can't tell you how fast my first time was because I was also installing the TTS supercharger and lock up clutch at the time.
But to do a clutch now no beer 2 hours and test driving.
Good luck you'll find plenty of knowledge on this site.

Good observation of details.

good catch
i am going to guess that shaft is a so called high performance part.
but if adjusted wrong would fail.

**UPDATE** The lifter shaft was toast. Got it replaced, and clutch now works, but I still have some issues. When sitting at idle it is difficult to pop it into gear, and if already in gear it is nearly impossible to get into neutral until I turn it off. It also feels like it is ever so slightly trying to pull forward if I am sitting in first at a stop with the clutch pulled.

Ok sounds like it needs a little adjustment. But first let figure it must be still applying drive motion to the input shaft. Things like adjustment especially since its new and things need to get bedded in. Warped steels will also make the clutch grabby. Not sure if your are new or did not get checked. Where the fibers soaked overnight in oil or just basically put in. Fibers will swell a little but if the haven't been submerged or soaked the could also act a little grabby.
Then I know people hate it but the Rocket gearbox likes 15W50 oil its all about lubricity changes with the heating up.
Those are the first things. Have you taken her out and spanked her any to bed things in?

No spank, more of a playful swat. Could the plates be bad?
