Sadly I was thinking the same Neville. Can the Rocket head valve seats be fixed/replaced ?

You should be able to reface the valves and grind the seats, three angles. If you have to replace any valves, reface them same as you would a used valve. A good machine shop should be able to do that. Sorry to butt into Neville's conversation, listen to him.

I measured the cam chain 23 links while still in the guide. Measures beyond spec. The tensioner plunger was fully extended beyond 25 mm.
Tried to get the cam chain out last night. What a PIA. Tried to take the guides out. Got the tension guide out ok, but the guide on the other side, I have no Idea how to get it out. I took the cam drive gear off the crank to make some room but no joy. BTW: the cam chain gear was tight and in great shape. also both guides show NO sigh of wear. Tried to take the cam ladder off but after getting 6 bolts loose my T30 Torx impact socket just shattered. WTDuck ? This bolt is only installed to 10 NM.

Looking at the bolt in the middle of the front of the head and I see it is going to have to come out to remove/install the cam chain. What does this bolt do ? Is it safe to remove ?

Yeah, take it out. It reduces noise apparently. The torx bolts get frozen to the alloy head. Maybe give them a little tap or two with a Harley tool kit. Jars the threads a little.

Teng Tools. Was recommended to me by an engine builder. He said snap off stay away, go with a Teng set. I did no issues.
