140 Front Tire

That is great to hear! I just replaced my rear with the Bridgestone and loved it. That was at 4100 miles, and now at 4900 miles I'm having to replace my front tire! I guess a spirited ride on the Talahina scenic road is a little too much for the Metzler! Per everyone's recommendation I have the Avon Cobra 140 coming!! In my defense I was chasing down a Busa, and did!! Although he was not really good in the corners.

It sure will feel better to get rid of the cupping on that tire foe sho!

No, and it'll work with the larger Excedra Max rear.

I also want to change to 140 front and a 240/55 Excedra Max rear as per the chart for my 2016 Roadster. In that chart it shows that the difference will be 6.1% (-3.9+2.2)and that the tolerance for ABS is 6% - is that number (6%) exact or do you need to be lucky not to have a fault. Also the Avon cobra I can get is 140/75 but the chart shows an aspect of 80, is that a material difference?

Yes, It is a 140/75
And no one that has moved to the 140 has had any issues with ABS

So since you changed over to a 140 in April how about an update to this post Rick.

Allan,
The following charts I created should help explain everything to you.
The OEM tire size circumference difference (R-F/R) is -3.9%
The 140/75F and 240/55R tire size circumference difference (R-F/R) is +1.3%
The total % circumference difference is then 5.2% - this is close to the estimated ECU ABS fault limit of 6%.
I know for a fact that a 130/80F with a 240/55R faults the ABS.
This tire size combination provides a circumference difference (R-F/R) of +4.6%.
Combined with the OEM difference of -3.9%, it equates to a total difference of 8.5%.
So then the actual ECU fault for the ABS is somewhere between 6% and 8.5%.
Hope this helps!

Thank you! Thats fantastic information!
