  1. Windshield extender?

There are two 'stock' screens, the Roadster (the bigger one) and the Summer (the smaller one). AS far as I can see, the Lip only fits the Roadster screen - is that correct? Anyone out there who has fitted one to his Summer screen? Cheers, vikei
  2. Lockable leather saddlebags

I know they are expensive, but nothing beats the Corbin bags for the Rocket - beautiful, light, roomy, lockable, watertight, easy to fit, easy to clean. Cheers, vikei
  3. Fog light Kit (sub-harness plugging into the bike's harness)

Mate - unless you are an expert, pay one to do electrical work. The amateur has no place amongst electrons - you pay for it now or later. Cheers, Vikei
  4. Corbin beetle bags

I have the Corbin bags, and they are wonderfully beautiful as well as practical and well made. I recently rode 2200 kilometres with them, a lot of it in heavy rain - no drama. You can also clean everything pretty well 100% without removing the bags, and in any case they enhance the Rocket's...
  5. Stebel air horn

No need to root around with this, mate. Buy two electro-pneumatic (flat) horns of two different frequencies, and have them mounted under one of the side covers. You then have three horns, and it looks neat (that is, invisible) and is extremely powerful a noise when you need it. Cheers, Einar
  6. Switches For Handlebars

You can simply mount a second Triumph switch block on the throttle side - looks neat, symmetrical and gives you four switches. I have done this, and used them for heated grips, factory fog lights, long range gas discharge driving lamps, and hazard lights (that is, all blinkers blinking, some...
  7. Seat removal

Place your hand on the seat towards the rear and press as you turn the key - the seat 'clicks' off. When you put the seat back on, press firmly on it towards the rear, and it locks back into place. Cheers, Einar
  8. Quick-detachable windshield for Rocket?

Doug - I have the smaller Triumph shield fitted permanently to my Rocket, and it looks very unobtrusive and yet very smart and is pretty effective for me (and I am 6'3") on the open road where I ride 99% of the time. What I am saying is that if you cannot find something which detaches easily...
  9. Update on dual car horn install.

I fitted two chrome horns at the front of my Rocket - see detailed instructions and pictures in the How To section on this site. I also recently removed the stock horn (to make way for a transformer for long distance lamps) and therefore also fitted two (dual frequencies) horns under one of the...
  10. Puncture!

I like the old "if you have a $50 head, buy a $50 helmet" Is your head worth more than a tyre?? Vikei
  11. Still getting a slight backfire on R3

My Rocket recently began to backfire, and it rapidly got worse - I thought it as dirty fue, but it turned out to be a faulty o-ring at the manifold. Ask your dealer about this possibility. Cheers, vikei
  12. Shocks 2 up?

Zilla, Use setting 3, and and you wil find that the Rocket will be very stable - more so than you alone on setting 1. The manual recommends 3, and it was extensively tested by the factory and is the best answer. Cheers, vikei
  13. Has your R3 backfired??

It annot be altitude, men, Oz is like a pancake - I suspect the fuel - will report back when I have done another run Cheers, vikei
  14. Has your R3 backfired??

Guys, I took took on fuel at a remote country place on Saturday, and whenever I changed down on the 250 km trip home my Rocket backfired like crazy - has this happened to others? Cheers, Vikei
  15. Triumph Leather Saddlebag Liners

Gasket - just buy the Triumph inner bags. They are cheap, well made, fit perfectly and will take quite a bit of rain. Cheers, Vikei
  16. Rear Suspension upgrade

Steve, I did some research six months ago, and it came down to the Ikons or the Fournales - but before I made a decision I gave the issue some time and came to the conclusion I described earlier. The Fournales are ahead of the game on looks, but they cost twice as much. Still, whatever you do...
  17. Rear Suspension upgrade

Steve, I bought a Rocket seven months ago, and also have a BMW K1200RS on which I have done some 50,000 km around SA. I have both bikes, and alternate, and ride exclusively in the country - both important considerations for what follows. At first I thought the Rocket's shock absorbers were...
  18. How to improve your Rocket's rear visibility, beautifully

Now that is very clean, very lovely!!
  19. How to improve your Rocket's rear visibility, beautifully

Dear Rocketeers, The Rocket's rear light is pretty effective, and it is also rather a fetching and integrated design. However, a bit of extra running light and brake light can never go astray - and then there is the odd empty space between the rear mudguard and the number plate to be filled...
  20. How to improve the Rocket's headlights

Dear Rocketeers, You can greatly improve your headlights cheaply and simply by fitting the Phillips H4 'GT 150' globes, and the box even comes with two xenon park light globes as well. As the GT 150 equipped lights are blue/white, unlike the yellow light which the stock Triumph globes produce...
