Has your R3 backfired??

Guys,
I took took on fuel at a remote country place on Saturday, and whenever I changed down on the 250 km trip home my Rocket backfired like crazy - has this happened to others?

I had to use some low grade fuel out in Nova Scotia and suffered poor performance and continous stalling at idle. Cured itself when higher grade fuel found.

could altitude be an issue for you ? i know my bike backfires pretty good coming off the throttle up in the mountains outside of las vegas. it doesnt seem to do it any other time. . . i run only 91 octane fuel.

It annot be altitude, men, Oz is like a pancake - I suspect the fuel - will report back when I have done another run
