What a difference a tire makes!

Engineers is smart, as I is one. (Sorry, trying to be funny) Not for tires however, just Freeways, Bridges, Subdivisions, Pipelines etc. Being a smartass, I went to the tire shop and noticed that on matching sets of MC tires, I checked 3 brands, that the front and rear patterns aligned...

What a difference a tire makes!

By reversing a rear MC tire and putting it in front is a match in tread pattern to a front MC tire mounted normally Therefore water dissipation is the same. I don't believe compound difference make a difference. Pun intended.

    DARK SIDE FRONT.

Yeah, I forgot to add some information. Do your research. (See Decosse above) I read all the info. available. Basically the reasons to reverse mount a MC Rear tire on the front is : the way it's manufactured to to handle the acceleration load by reversing you allow the braking forces to...

    Repairs done on your Roadster?

2010 Roadster with Triple K&N and Full Jardine system. @10,500 miles had the Cam cover gasket blowout (slow leak really) I took it in to my local shop because I just didn't want to get that deep into it. I usually do all the simple mods and maintenance myself. Glad I did, they reported an...

    DARK SIDE FRONT.

I chose the the AVON Trailrider it is a 90/10 street/trail tire Dual compound. 160-60-17 after reading rim sizing tables I determined that was the widest I could fit under stock fender. I really like the aggressive look of the tread and it feels glued to the pavement. I also run Dark on the...

Thanks for the comment. I can remove the panniers and windshield in 5 min. so I get the "IN THE WIND" look. Patches ain't my thing either, the vest was a novelty gift and I just cut the skull patches off and needed a proper filler. Found a cool replacement with the #1 TRIUMPH patch and to rub...

    BF Goodrich 225-65-R16 Advantage T/A

I made a typo should have been 225-55-16, my bad. The stock Metzler was a 240-50-16 and from what I have read going with the smaller 225 CT was the way to go. Just because you could fit larger is not always better.

Longest Life rear tire for Roadster?

Uneven road surfaces at slow speed and Stops have an effect on all tires. Which is why we, as Motorcyclist, always try to avoid them. Am I wrong? Or do you aim for the ruts? Lol

Longest Life rear tire for Roadster?

Nogrey Really just wanted you to expand on those thoughts. I've been through 3 sets of Metz, (all they had back then) and a set of Avons. I like my setup now and I like being different, hence no HD's anymore. Hell, if everyone went Dark I might have to go back to MC Tires. :roll:
