Tired of tires yet? Here's more....

Judging by your photo here, I'd say my ExMax V-rated wear-rate mirrors yours pretty closely... I have 13,000+ miles on mine, and it's still serviceable for another thousand or maybe a tad more, I'd estimate. I think the bumpy/lumpy/noisy effect I'm getting right now from mine is coming mostly...

    R3T Front tire not centered

Same experience here... I noticed pretty quickly after buying my 2014 R3T (new in '15) that the wheel/tire sits off-center... additionally, whether related or not, mine FRONT ALSO WEARS NOTICEABLY MORE ON RIGHT (driver's right) SIDE. I've always suspected it has to do with the...

Tired of tires yet? Here's more....

The Exedra Max w/V rating is what I chose for first replacement of the OE Metzlers on my 2014 R3T, which (Metz's) were the lousiest tires I've ever experienced in decades of riding... they were scalloped (front really badly) and awful by 7,500 or 8,000 miles, but, I suffered with 'em to 9,000+...

THE R3T SPORTING MUSTANG "VINTAGE" SOLO SEAT (photos)

I failed to thank Delaware rider (see his comment in this thread) for his input/insight into installation of the saddle from his own personal experience with same. I'd read several comments from others that found the initial installation to be difficult or nearly impossible, due to some oddity...

THE R3T SPORTING MUSTANG "VINTAGE" SOLO SEAT (photos)

I bumped into a serious deal on a brand new Mustang "Vintage" two-piece saddle with Driver Backrest, and thought some might like to see it in "solo" mode. Like others have reported, installing the seat is a bit of a puzzle, but once you figure out the trick, there was "nothing to it", and will...

tomcat.... back in April you had a Mustang seat w/backrest for sale, which you apparently sold.... I'm looking at one, myself..... but I hear they're hard-to-nearly impossible to install. Did you ever install yours, or try? And if so, did you like/not like how it sat? PLEASE ASAP ME ON THIS...

Thanks Jim... I'll may try to call you today... of course I don't know your work schedule, but if I call at bad time, just don't answer if it's inconvenient.... Preston

Avon Cobra White Walls Wheel Wobble WTF ?

I had a low speed wobble with the OE Metz's after they cupped... I could take hands off of bars (keeping them just above grips, of course) and a wobble would develop QUICKLY, and felt as if it would have gone out of control in moments, even at very low speed - <30 mph - if I had let it go...

Avon Cobra White Walls Wheel Wobble WTF ?

If you'll go back and carefully read my post, I think you'll see I wasn't being critical and, in fact, noted that I thought all comments were interesting. But in tires, tire size and model of bike, etc., does matter in the final analysis, and if you have someone who doesn't "catch", for...

Good afternoon... read and re-read your March post re: the Mustang 2 pc seat..... I have opportunity to buy one at great price, and it also includes the driver backrest. I'm hesitant, though, after reading another poster saying he couldn't get his to fit, and had to return it... This opp. won't...

Avon Cobra White Walls Wheel Wobble WTF ?

BTW, and just a HEADS UP, but I'm seeing folks weighing in with comments about "this brand" and "that air pressure", and "mine only lasted X" and "mine wobbled at such and such", etc., but if you'll notice, the original poster is riding a Touring, and some others weighing in are riding...

Bike Bandit BLOG: Large motorcycles are a dying segment

This is, in part, why I don't particularly care for all the gizmos to be had on the H-D Glides and Indian "whatevers"... and why I don't complain constantly about "I wish my R3T had sat-nav, infra-red missile guidance and surround-sound" (or whatever the h*ll they come up w/next...lol). I'm a...

    Overpriced Motorcycles or What

One of our big Trumpet dealers here in NC is principally a H-D dealer, "Ray Price H-D/Triumph" in Raleigh... they also own a large dealership in Fayetteville (NC) that goes under a different name. I hate to say it, but I believe the H-D part of things there (and the larger part by far) HELPS...

    Overpriced Motorcycles or What

I fully agree.... and that's the way it's been with "recreational" vehicles, boats, etc., since time immemorial, it seems. "Pay to play", but sad nonetheless.... especially when I see fellers' buying $25,000 or up (heck, $10,000 or whatever...) bikes and they're just good workin' folks...

The Brother in Law Traded in his Harley....

Somehow, the "he had over 30,000 km on his Heritage..." part I find highly amusing! WOW! OVER 18,000 miles!!! Man, now that's some HIGH MILEAGE (LOL... I don't but barely consider a bike "broken in", LITERALLY, at that level of mileage), yet he's had problems "galore" with the H-D, apparently...

Harleys are the Airstreams of Motorcycles

That's pretty much what all this is about. It's just that no one wants to own this fact. We want to BEAT the validation of our chosen (or not so "chosen", for whatever set of circumstances) ride out of everyone else. Peer pressure and acceptance exerts more influence over us than any of us...

    Thank you!!!

I'm late to the "Welcoming" party, but "WELCOME" to you!... from another R3T owner right here in North Carolina... I'm in Burlington, probably 1.5 to 1.75 hours or so north/northeast of you. I bought a 2014 R3T new in 2015, getting ready to take her in for the 20,000 mile service. Stay in...

    Stock Triumph windshied versus Clearview

Indeed, the lowers as seen stock on current R3T's make a huge difference in under-blast. IN FACT, I have ridden H-D's latest 2017 Road Glide and Street Glide setups, and there is LESS below-screen blast on my R3T than either of those fancied-up H-D fairing bikes (which one would think would be...

    Miles per tank

Your "pre-tune" mileage per tank is about what I get, and a lot of "through town" start-n-stop stuff will really knock it down. In my estimation, the best road fuel mileage is achieved at 60 or less (assuming you're on back roads, etc., where one can actually only make 60 mph or less, obviously).
