    Greetings! (Wall of Text Warning)

    1. Yep that's the price. With dealer and crate fees and all the other bull$hit they tacked on I rode out of the dealer at about $17,500 2. I'm over 25 and married, but only had my M license for about a year. I use State Farm and pay about $65/month. A friend just got a completely insane...

Yeah I know now... just having a laugh at my own expense ;)

    Another Canuck

Vancouver island... that's on the east coast right? Welcome from western NY! Glad you're enjoying the forum and the bike.

    Anyone using Progressive 444 shocks

You could probably use a wrench and a bit of rag to prevent roughing them. I've been running with the 444s for about a year now and I'm very happy with them. I may soften them up JUST a bit since the highways in the area are full of bumps that have me hopping out of the saddle. They're great...

    Chrome frame covers

Careful with that chrome, when you're tooling it. Another forum member was cutting/modding a chrome part and got himself blood poisoning from just a tiny bit of chrome in an itchy bug bite. I'm sure you'll be fine, but no harm in offering a word of caution!

    Fridays the day...

Wait I thought this was an Aussie bike forum and you just let us Yanks post for a laugh.

    Riding the Wolf

Haha just put the corrected addy into Google maps. Turns out I'm about as clueless about canadian geography as I am about most things. You're about as far out of my neck of the woods as you can be without swimming. Great idea for a meetup though. Maybe I'll try and start a tradition out here...

    That Can't be safe?

Haha... I didn't even see the scooter until I read your caption. Poor thing is probably screaming just to roll forward. Those sweet ape hangers are cherry though. Thinking of having something just like that put on my rocket right after I make her a hard tail and put a pencil thin bicycle...

    Thunderbird?

Scariness is a subjective thing. It has been stated more than a few times that the american cruiser market is believed to be intimidated by the power of the R3. Harleys being the standard, anything with over 100 hp is potentially scary. I think they might move more roadsters in the USA if...

Disappointing visit at dealership regarding my tune

I asked a similar question at one of the dealerships here in western NY and got a similarly vague and incorrect answer. I wanted them to try the 2013 TORS tune on my bike (which at the time had TORS) and we gave it a shot, but it didn't work. I think I got a control sweep but the engine...

    Rocket bore/stroke,vs. HD bore stroke

We did indeed! I was trying to find your bike again but there were just so many bikes and people. I was happy to see another rocket, even if it was just in passing. I was accompanied by my father on the KTM Superduke 1290 (one incredible machine... makes a Diavel look like a sleeping kitten)...

    Fridays the day...

Can't wait to hear what you think of the bike once you've got a few miles on! I was terribly intimidated going from a Kawa Vulcan 900 with about 60 hp straight up to a R3R. I thought it was love at first sight, but I didn't know what love was until I rode it for the first time!

    Rocket bore/stroke,vs. HD bore stroke

Doesn't seem like even a straight pipe on a R3 makes the same ruckus at idle that a hog does. I was just in Port Dover on Friday for their Friday the 13th "rally" and not even Carpenter's thunderous Brute idles with the same kind of volume these guys were packing. As far as I'm concerned, a...

    0 to 60....Rocket comes in at #3

I love this argument. I've had it with a friend many times, and we never convince the other of our point. At the end of the day every machine is different, and the value of comparing them is in direct proportion to their similarities, not their differences. There aren't a lot of articles...

    Riding the Wolf

That's right near my neck of the woods! Google maps seems to point me to "Marlin Travel" when I look for "Country club dairy queen Nanaimo". Can you provide a street address or nearby business? Love to catch this some full moon.

Carpenter 210+ VS 240+ on the street

When I brought my bike in, they told me they drop a custom map with all your essential ECU tweaks onto the bike's computer and then use a PC to fine tune the fueling. If you are getting an "already carpenterized" bike, I would expect it to have the PC already installed and fully tuned. I...

Carpenter 210+ VS 240+ on the street

The short answer? Because I had bought the pipe for $1800 back when I was sensible enough to think the Carpenter packages were too expensive and added unnecessary power to an already massively powerful machine. The Reband exhaust looked (to my eye) better, came with a fitted heat shield, and...

Carpenter 210+ VS 240+ on the street

I dunno Tripps... The bike can keep up but the rider needs some practice. I'm looking forward to trying though.

About to hop aboard the Riii

My dad is a long-time Kawasaki owner and high HP sportbike enthusiast. He retired a couple years back, around when I bought my R3 Roadster. He has NEVER been a fan of cruisers, but he really loves my bike. Seems like power cruisers are perfect for sport bike lovers who are looking for a more...
