Or **** gearboxes! The fact that triumph produce an "up grade" kit (made in japan) might suggest that there is a problem with the boxes. I guess people with God like riding skills would not need such things but there are an awful lot of unfortunate RS owners (both looney razzers and cruisers)...

Hope you get it sorted out inexpensively! My thoughts are with you! Good Luck. When mine went it was in traffic at about 10 mph coming up to a roundabout. The rest is history......

I'll get some pics sent to you for ref. Does the owner of the 500 HP bike actually ride it or just show it off? I guess if yone had 500 Hp and Pootle around at 50 all day there would be no stress on the bike. The Triumph guys reckon it can happen with bikes that are ridden hard and bikes that...

Hello mate! Yes! 1700 quid poorer and major gearbox repair using genuine Triumph gearbox bits ( made in Japan!!!!!! Where are hey seem to know how to make parts fit for purpose!!!) and the bike is probably a lot better than when it left the factory! My specialist laughed and reckons Rocket 3...

    RamAir report

Hi Fitted the Ramair six months ago. Great stuff! But don't ride the Rocket with your shorts on!!!! Seriously after 2 months the induction roared louder...... because the rubber unions had perished and she was sucking unfiltered air. Sent back to Ramair who replaced without question...

Roadster transmission problems sorted.... My a***!

Hello mate- well after a 2.5k quote from triumph and an actual bill from a trusted independent of £1700 the bike is fixed!!! My worst fears realised. The gears, selector and dogs badly worn after 13000 miles. I chose an independent (actually Ducati specialist) for obvious reasons! Triumph were...

hi there, yes checked the (back axle) splines on my return and re greased them. They were also greased a few weeks ago when I had a new tyre. No issue taking the back wheel off / on so I guess they are not damaged.

Roadster transmission problems sorted.... My a***!

Hi Thanks for getting back. Bike is regularly serviced with the right oils. It has ramiar but that is the only mod. I ride it failry hard but have done the same with Ducatis for 15 years with no major issues so i guess I know how to change gear etc. No wheelies or burn outs crap. Coming up to...

Thanks for you response jpool. I am having it further investigated and will keep you posted. I hope I have been too hasty! I guess I was a little annoyed at the triumph response and the fact that the dealers couldnt even diagnose / replicate the fault on the test ride. Fingers crossed I may not...

Roadster transmission problems sorted.... My a***!

Hi Thanks for getting back to me. I am absolutely no expert. My symptoms were similar and it happened whilst i was in traffic coming up to a roundabout. It felt like"chainslip" under load. I nursed it home OK keeping the throttle to about 5% max. Even in top if you applied throttle I felt a...

I am now the proud owner of a 2011 (2012 "updated model") with a shot gearbox; an estimate for 2500 repair bill and not a hint of support from Triumph. The dealer tells me they are very powerful and it all has to go through a bike gearbox so you need to ride them like a cruiser....... What price...
