Excuse my ignorance Hombre, but what affect does the IC have on the SC's performance. I understand that it cools the air which is heated due to the compression, but what objective benefits are to be had?
In other words, is it worth the time, cost, and effort? Is it a significant change, or more of a marginal improvement?
My secondary induction pipe (after the turbine) is obviously warmer than the primary intake tube, but certainly not hot. However, I've yet to drive it in warm weather. It's in the 40's here during the day. It will rarely will hit 100F here during the summer.

As a future Patent Attorney, I'm sure you have an appreciation for Boyle's Law. When air is compressed by the turbine it gets hotter. When it's compressed to 14+ lbs boost (or 17+ in my case) it gets WAY HOTTER! I run an intercooler in/out temp gauge, and I've seen the air temps exiting the turbine (intercooler in) as high as 85 C (185F). The intercooler does an excellent job of reducing the temp of this compressed air before it enters the engine. Typically I see 85C "in" air reduced to 40+C "out" temps (depending on ambient). You will note that TTS relocates the stock IAT sensor to a position between air filter and turbine. This is because 85C air is beyond the sensor limits! Running an intercooler, I've placed my IAT sensor in it's most useful location... the intake plenum.
If your IAT (actual temp of air entering combustion chamber) is extremely hot you run a great risk of detonation. You will have a certainty of reduced power. Colder air is more dense, contains more O2 molecules, and consequently can combust more fuel, producing more power.
The intercooler made by TTS is very efficient. However it requires more than just bolting on the new radiator/intercooler unit. You would have to change your rear turbine housing and plumbing as well. I wouldn't be too concerned living in coastal Oregon, and using a sidecar. Your ambient temps aren't high, and you're not looking for max power with a sidecar attached. The intercooler is a significant improvement for those seeking max power.

I'm not running your level of boost, nor am I seeking "max power," as you have stated, but rather, I just want a good reliable machine with "ridiculously unnecessary power"
as opposed to "max power." You know ... the kind that is good for the environment; seeing how this is Oregon and all.
The opportunity costs in terms of power and the increased detonation risks answer my question. For me personally, neither is an issue given my usage. I do intend to ride the bike as a 2-wheeler still (perhaps one on occasion), but even then, I hardly push the bike to its limits.
I have yet to go WOT since getting the SC installed ... but I'm sure I'll get there
