Boy I just find it difficult owning a bike that has no sixth gear or throttle by wire. No real solid aftermarket support. Really big and top heavy with a very uncomfortable seat and peg position. No dealership support at all. Most of my old riding buddies do not ask me to come along anymore because I ride a bike not made in the USA. When you get right down to it all you get is a big engine in a ugly looking bike. Wait a minute, that is why I bought the bike. Nine months old and 15,000 miles later enough said.
I don't know how old ya are...but you get to a place where a trike seems like the only way to keep riding, and if you wanna ride you'll get or build a trike. And you can see it coming a good while before you actually get that way.
I love many different bikes. I love my Rocket. Would I swap it out even after announcing it is my forever bike? Maybe. it is sick right now and has been for many months. It still pulls it weight as my daily driver but I can't figure out why it keeps back firing through the throttle bodies at low RPMs. I know it can't be good but it only has 38K miles and that just aint right...

I'm kind of excited about the tilting trikes being built now. Still rides like a mc but won't fall over. Traditional trikes kind of suck combing the worst attributes of a mc and a car, but i understand its better than nothing. I think id rather have a convertible, but i suppose my mind might change as i age.
A rocket trike would be a wheelie machine. It would take more restraint than i currently possess to keep the front wheel down.
As a matter of fact my big ol' rocket would most likely be crying and sobbing suffering a blow to its self-esteem and would have to go to therapy for rejection and abandonment issues...
As the ladies would say 'has commitment issues'.
Unless your a dealer it must be cheaper to keep both than soak up the repeated changeover costs.
Interesting exhaust system on the Rocket, maker?
The exhaust system is known as the Preds .... A few were made by a guy in the states called Sam (user ID used to be travel guy) ...I don't think they were cost effective to produce so were only made in a short run ....the ones on my bike were a "one off" with bigger headers ..... I sold that system as t was for the older Rocket which I no longer have and did not fit the Roadster which I now have...I am now running with a Reband full system
The reason I ask is that I also got the odd backfire, you can feel it in the seat on the stock air filter. Usually on decel into second gear. I found it happened more often while changing gears if I gave it too much throttle in between shifts.
On occasion it happens with my ram air as well
