Would you part ways with your Rocket?

I've been riding my triumph explorer XC as a daily commuter and I find it works well. I just did a short 2 day trip up the Sunshine Coast and back, 1000k and I'll say this much, nice ride, works well in the twisties, great on gravel roads but that seat...it sucks big time.
Every time I passed a cruiser I thought of my rocket. As soon as I got home, I went out for a short jaunt on the roadster, that's when I knew I'd be keeping this bike for as long as I can. Like some others here I may upgrade in a couple of years or even add the R3T to the mix.
I don't find the bike all that heavy at all. I've come to realize it's just a different style of riding. I agree with a lot of posts, bikes are so different in their abilities, it's nice to have a couple of different styles in the stable.

I have a love hate relationship with these 2 bikes ....when I've got one I want the other....now and again I have both ....I am on my 4th Rocket and 2nd Gen2 Vmax

As the ladies would say 'has commitment issues'.
Unless your a dealer it must be cheaper to keep both than soak up the repeated changeover costs.
Interesting exhaust system on the Rocket, maker?
 
I love many different bikes. I love my Rocket. Would I swap it out even after announcing it is my forever bike? Maybe. it is sick right now and has been for many months. It still pulls it weight as my daily driver but I can't figure out why it keeps back firing through the throttle bodies at low RPMs. I know it can't be good but it only has 38K miles and that just aint right...
 
I know that feeling too, 38.000 miles is 61153 Km within a 100 or so of mine, I've a recent HansO tune but think it may be an exhaust or intake leak. I think they diagnose running lean when it occures but still to check further. So many threads to read.
 
I am test riding the XDiavel S on Friday, The 'Ducati Experience Tour' at a local dealer

After obsessing over every You tube video I could find I went and sat on it.
Beautiful. Peg position is very close to my 08 standard, maybe even further forward.

If I fall in love after the test ride, the wife loves it too, is sympathetic to my desire and may let me go into (more) debt to get it.

I will not sell the Rocket.
 
I sold one Rocket after 8 years and got a T-Bird. I could do that again with the LT. The Rocket is awesome and fast. But the engine is ridiculously hot in summer, it is top heavy, and could use an overdrive. The T-Bird is more rideable but has less power. Just keep switching back and forth. Indians, Victories, and HD's do nothing for me.
 

I've not examined these engines close but check the throttle bodies...they may have rubber boots....many do....which have cracked and induced a leak!
 
Boy I just find it difficult owning a bike that has no sixth gear or throttle by wire. No real solid aftermarket support. Really big and top heavy with a very uncomfortable seat and peg position. No dealership support at all. Most of my old riding buddies do not ask me to come along anymore because I ride a bike not made in the USA. When you get right down to it all you get is a big engine in a ugly looking bike. Wait a minute, that is why I bought the bike. Nine months old and 15,000 miles later enough said.
 
They haven't made a bike yet that I would consider trading for. Except maybe a new model but I'm not a fan of black

I think if it ever gets to the point where I need a trike, I'll just stop riding, but, ya never know.
