Winter motorcycle storage!

supporting a $5k (old bike) or $15K new bike with a $50 stand that takes 2 people to operate with no strap down connections???????
OK BRO good luck. i have had my rocket on a lift, and a stand and NOTHING comes close to what i call stable other than something strapped either to the ground or a lift rated to do so.... im not sure what the achievement is by using this is for winter storage vs just extra air in the tires but... good for you... its not so much the idea, as it is the $50 lift you posted that is the issue.

Why it shouldn't be stable? Crankcase is flat, this is flat, what's the problem? I haven't tried to lift it yet, though. But this is very simple device with spindle, no hydraulics, no hoses, no wheels... It can lift 500kg which should be more than enough. And yes, I planned to strap the bike to the lift. If it is unstable I simply won't do it, but I will still have the lift if I have to change tires or something.

The bottom on the oil pan crank case is not flat. It has multiple drail ports and is usually fairly slick from oil and road grime. I don't care what it's on, it needs to be strapped. Usually those jacks listed here are for when a bike is on a lift with the front wheel chocked and stable.
Those rubber pads are held on with wishes and prayers worth of cheep glue and always get damaged and come off in no time at all. At least these cheap ones. I've put a dozen or so bikes are various methods be being lifted and that sketchy $50 deathtrap is something I would discourage against using on its own.
Putting the front wheel into a wheel chuck that is bolted down... That would be a good combo or any normal lift with strapping points

Well, I will get the front wheel choke as well. I already have one but R3 wheel may not get in. Anyways this 50$ lift is robust, believe it or not. It is super simple and can't cost more. It has just few parts. Jacking points on the crankcase look to be in the same plane, this is why I said flat, but I might be wrong.
