check battery terminals are done up tight, try spraying all contacts (i.e. clutch /starter switch, side stand) with contact cleaner,if that does not work, try starter relay,(smallest one of 2 under right hand side cover)i just swapped one from other side to try out, then replaced faulty relay, sorted problem
When I turn the key on the normal things happen except the starter motor does not kick over until I have pushed the starter button in for about 5 to10 seconds then she starts up any one got any ideas

The other day you mentioned you had been riding in the rain, buy a can of CRC co2 electrical contact cleaner cleaner take the switch bloke apart so you can see the back of the switch and spray whilst pushing the switch in and out it will dry itself out in a few minutes then apply a generous amount of diaelectric grease into and around the switch from the back, this should hopefully reduce the chance of it happening again, what probally happened is the rain carried some fine road grime into the switch which temporally caused a loss of contact. Hope that helps you
I'd like to get rid of the 'clutch ' and ' sidestand ' safety cut-outs .. at least then if i'm having issues i'll know it's not them . Anyone gone ahead and got rid of them ?
that cool.. Peter.
I found last year whilst riding home from the Island thru torrential rain that my hi beam switch started switching between by it's self and only when I opened it up when I got home that I found that while Triumph uses dielectric grease in it's electrical connecters there was next to nothing in the switch blocks so now it is part of my yearly maintinance jobs once a year to just check and top up
