Yes my stock header pipes glowed cherry red and could be seen easily at night under the heat shields BEFORE I added my Dobeck Performance AFR Plus. You see when your Air Fuel Ratio is set as far to lean as it is from the factory, your exhaust gas temperatures will be much higher than they should be and cause your header to glow. We need to have our AFR set correctly to a richer AFR number. I have mine set at 14.2:1 for my general cruising and set at 12.5:1 for WOT and hard acceleration. My header pipes run cooler and always look like the normal steel. As a benefit I never feel the high heat as many complain about.
