Who has CES Exhaust?

forgot to mention the weight savings,i had an old 3 pipe exhaust with a cat .I think I saved 30-35 lbs of low slung weight.

With heat shields and trying there new style tapered muffler
Do these heat shields do anything? My Jardines have complete shielding and they are as hot as f..k. I had the headers wrapped and that helps. If CES is coated on the inside, that should help but any exhaust that melts your clothing is not appropriate for everyday riding.

I have ceramic coated modified Jardine headers with heat shields - and I had to build an additional shield as it was getting expensive replacing Cordura trousers.

one way or another there is no escaping the fact that 2300 cc spewing burning gaz and expelling all that through 3 measly pipes near your leg will always be very uncomfortable no matter what .

Perhaps I misrepresented the facts. I have no problem riding with CES pipes on a daily basis...hatdly notice them anymore...until you get stuck in traffic with both feet on the ground for an extended period...then you will d@mn well notice them. I'm sure it is the same with others. I've even seen a leg protector fabricated for protection. I checked the headers with an infrared thermometer. From cold start to 500F takes less than 30 seconds so all you tough boys can talk all the $hit you want but skin starts to complain at that temp. Having said that I still like the pipes :D

That is interesting, how about having your Infrared Thermometer handy so that when you get home from a ride one day when the Engine is hot, you could shoot a temp check then.
Or if you're keen, take a shot as you are riding down the road say at 60-80MPH.

The heat isn't what bothers me about aftermarket pipes...its having to re-coat them every couple of years due to rust break through on the mild steel headers
