The April issue of Rider has an article, "A 35 Bucket List", 35 roads to ride or even think about. As I read through the list I realized that most of these roads are outside my travel zone. I live just south of Jacksonville Florida and consider my travel zone to be East of Texas and as far North as Virginia.

I've taken a motorcycle to the northern tip of Virginia and back, including travel on the Parkway from Pisgah to about an hour north of Asheville.

What roads, in the Southeast, besides the dragon, should I include in my "Bucket List"?

The farthest I've ridden, in one day, on the R3T has been about 300 miles. By the time I got home, the seat was killing me. (Not as comfortable as the Goldwing) I'm having the seat built, have the taller windshield, installed my GPS and radar det, highway pegs and rear seat backrest. What else do I need to do to add to the "tourability" of the R3? Better suspension anyone?

Better suspension and a Day Long saddle should get you another 100-200 miles a day.

Nate and to anyone else reading this, come on up or down to Chattanooga, TN and we'll go on a ride to some of the most beautiful motorcycle roads this side of the Mississippi River (dang, I can't believe that I spelled that right). A lot of the local roads here in N. GA and east TN are motorcyclists secrets that have not been discovered by the masses (YET), like the Tail of the Dragon was just a few years ago. I'm always up for a ride and I'm only about 10 minutes off of I-75. Just PM me if anyone wants to go.

In a couple of weeks, my wife and I are staying two nights in a b&b near Helen GA. (Celebrating our 25th anniv) We need to go from there to Lynchburg VA to see our kids at Liberty University and unfortunately need to take the car. I planned on taking note of some roads in North GA for future travel. Any recommendations?

Actually the southern end of US 129, runs across Blood Mountain near Helen and is a heck of a ride even in a cage. You could stay on 129 all the way up to and through the Dragon, but if your wife is prone to sea sickness that many curves and elevation changes is rough in a cage. The road pitches you from side to side and up and down so much it's like a roller coaster that doesn't quit. You don't notice it so much on a bike because the side to side pitching is greatly reduced. Have a great time while your up in my neck of the woods and plan on coming back on the bike, we'll make a trip up to Lynchburg, TN and tour the Jack Daniels distillery, that's a great day ride from my place.

Ahhhh Highway 17. Nice!

An "iron butt" ride has been on my list for a long time. Got it done yesterday.
1,040 miles in a little less than 20 hours.
