What Kind of Man/Woman Rides a Rocket?

My Cav Scout son told me to buy it. Well, actually he had a 'come to Jesus' talk with me. He said, "Dad, you know I love you but we have to come to terms with getting older. You crashed your VMAX into the Rockies and then hit a deer on your rehab bike, the FZ1. You need to acknowledge you are getting older. It's time you get a cruiser Dad". So I did. I called him to let him know I took his advice and it made him happy. About five minutes after I hung up telling him simply it was a Triumph Rocket III, he called me back. As I answered the phone, I heard, “WTF DAD! That bike has a bigger engine than my car”. I said I love you too son. You’ve known me for 23 years kid, would you expect anything less from me?!?

Man, have I been there - done that . . . in SPADES!
Plus I now get to hear, "DAD YOU'RE ALMOST 70!!!"

I think it is mainly men who ride Rockets. The title of the post did say what kind of man or woman rides a Rocket, and I think the motorcycle is just too big for most women. The common denominator among men would be a need for speed. Men ride Rockets because they want to go fast. All the rest is just window dressing.

I don't know about that as there are plenty of faster motors out there.
If power, speed and a fairly comfortable cruiser is required, the Rocket RULES!

i've always been a fan of brute force and muscle. got my rocket for my 28th birthday, i'd say i'm among the younger of rocket owners judging by the kind of lads i see with them.
there aren't many on this island, i've only ever seen 4 others, and i haven't seen one since 2011.
i saw an orange tribal original one parked outside a house one day, word on the street is a lady owned it. that would be the only female rocket rider i've heard of.

Well I just noticed something while reading these posts, I am getting old. I still do the crazy things that I did when I was much younger so it came as a wakeup call to me. I picked a R#T because it is different and fast. I started riding many years ago on Triumph 650s. then moved up to a Knucklehead that I bought in boxes. I ran that as a chopper, back then you had to build a lot of the custom parts yourself. It had a side draft Webber, 12" over forks open primary with the rotating chain right next to your leg, 21 inch front tire without brake, drum brake at rear operated bu stock steel linkage, and a mousetrap clutch setup. I have owned Panheads, Shovelheads, and an Evo along with Moto Guzzi, Honda 750s, Goldwings and others. I started to get bore with the newer motorcycles as they all started to look the same especially the Harleys. A guy would buy a bike go to his local dealer and purchase parts and slap them on and he called it a custom. Pre made chrome parts and custom paint does not make a custom. I bought a Rocker because it is different and fast. I am dark siding it because people say you should not, I guess I like to be different. I already put LED lights on it and was thinking about a sidecar. I have had them in the past and are a blast to ride. Love scaring people when making right turns. One thing I noticed about Rocket parts is the are very expensive. I guess I will be making my own seat in the future. I would love to supercharge it so I will look at how they are built and maybe copy the setup. I believe the question was what kind of person rides a Rocket, I would have to say an individual with a desire to be different.

The video did it for me too. Had to go and try one and that was it.

Yeah..... I witnessed in the video exactly what the bike was capable of doing. Power, swift on its feet, wheelies, good braking, and the entire bike leave the ground then come down without the rider having to fight it I knew this bike was for me. lol

What kind of person is Rocket Classic, Touring, or Roadster rider/owner? What kind of person do you think rides the beast?
