At that price it needs to be. Like most all I really would like is a bit of friction assist every 70kms or so just to shake a bit of blood back into my throttle hand. The only decent Cruise Control I've had was on a Jag Sovereign. But even so I found my right foot more able to drive smoothly. Surprising how often one makes tiny adjustments to speed when "cruising". I guess if you have to ride in straight lines across Nevada or the Simpson with zero traffic it's a different matter.
All the Old Guzzis used to come with a friction screw in the throttle housing. Was really time consuming to get right. If it held the throttle it was too stiff for country roads. Especially on LeMans with the 90° accelerator towers. So meant fiddling every time the roads changed. I had a mate in the early '80's who barely escaped - but he hit the kill switch in time. Whence pretty much all of us removed said screw and the friction plate.
Both the Brakeaway and Atlas, imo, have the advantage they are simple friction (so relatively cheap) but have an on/off component. Of the two the Atlas somehow appeals more.

An alternative to Kaoko version with Kuryakyn quality and ability to match both sides bar weights for less than Kaoko price of their unmatchable version. These Kuryakyn #6285 versions fit both 7/8" and 1" bars I believe. These epartus listings are cheaper for US buyers.
