I noticed on their website that the BrakeAway isn't compatible with heated grips. Has anyone with heated grips installed them on their rides? What was the issue?
Not sure as I don't have heated grips, but likely the way the electric wire comes out of the molded rubber? It would interfere with the mechanism.
I believe the wire comes out radially, maybe someone could put up a picture?
BTW - A nice advantage/disadvantage breakdown of different types on the atlas site Throttle Lock Comparison Chart
One thing I like with this is that on/off button rotates with your hand. I use a palm rest on both my bikes so my hand position is fixed.
Also looks rather "rustic" which appeals to my mindset.
Hardly an unbiased comparison made by Atlas!?!?
My "mounts to grip" Go Cruise 2 is the simplest, easy to use that I have seen.
Most of the negatives suggested by Atlas are untrue. Tis very easy to set (a slight push downward to the brake lever by your index finger).
Tis NOT a dangerous lock, but temporarily restrains the throttle while you scratch or stretch. Always able easily to roll back throttle if needed.
Out on long stretches of freeways, I set mine to just cancel out the spring pressure give a little relief to my right wrist.
