What did you do to your Rocket today?

...ahhh...i dont think he means that 'tool' brutha!....sides....it wont dent the tank!...unless you got jewellery in it?

I damaged my tank attaching the GPS mount to handlebars that were set too low, twice :banghead:. Always place a towel over the tank when tooling around. My mechanic has something like your tank cover. He has never dinged my tank or bike. I have let him know and thanked him for being careful.

Greetings!!! I've put the R3 on the operating table, until I can't travel on it with my wife I'll do maintenance and aesthetic work

-Dismantle the wheels to remove rust and stains, polish them
-Rear shock absorbers YSS
-Check the cardan shaft assembly and grease
-Mounting Wilbers Progressive Springs
-Cleaning and polishing of chrome parts

Greetings, I have very rusty tires (alumina) and I want to leave them as best as possible, I have spent the afternoon trying to clean them with triple 0 wool and polish them with discs and pastes but the rust does not disappear

Tomorrow I'll buy 1000-1500-2000 waterproof sandpaper and I'll sand it and then polish it

I rode 350 miles over the weekend but it was too good to be true and the temperature went from 70F yesterday to 40F and raining today with a 47F high.

A project work day it is then...

I added a trailer swivel coupler ($200), swingback jack with dolly wheel ($37), and Attwood 11130-7 lift handle ($13) to my Rocket home-on-wheels accessory.

The Maxxhaul 70148 10" Jack was not designed for a MC trailer but I thought it would be handy to be able to drop the wheel down to be able to maneuver it around and keep the hitch mount out of the dirt. At 1,000 lb capacity it is overkill and it is heavy but for the price I decided to try it.

I had to temporarily revoke my engineering degree after stupidly attaching the jack to the coupler (which spins 360 degrees - DOH!) when it wouldn't fit the main frame assembly.

Redeeming myself, I resized the holes with a drill bit, made a SINGLE trip to Home Depot for bolts, nuts, lock washers and chrome spacers, and repurposed extra parts
that came in the kit to make a functioning solution. It may not be the handsomest design, but neither is the Rocket.

The coupler is optional but is intended to let the MC corner independently from the trailer and free up any torsional influences between them.

Oops, as I was loading the pictures I noticed that the lift handle is mounted wrong. As long as I have to fix that I'll flip the two support brackets around too.

5/5/20 update: Flipped handle around so it would be easier to pull the trailer manually if required. Bolts were too short to flip the two support brackets. Good enough.

Went for a beautiful 225 mile ride up in the mountains yesterday to visit the 4 lake communities, Lake Gregory, Lake Arrowhead, Big Bear and Silverwood. Weather was perfect mid 70s and even found this little gem parked next to me once we returned from Lunch.
