What a difference a tire makes!

I decided I wanted a lighter looking front fender so got a glass one in from the U.K. it was very well made BUT ! when I mounted it on the bike it just didn't look right, first I cursed that I'd spent $ on something that didn't work and was all wrong :(
But then just looking at it (As I do) I realised that sitting it lower on the forks so as not to have that big gap, the radius of the Fender didn't match the Radius of the tyre (I should say here that I fitted the 140 section tyre some years ago, would never go back to the 150)
So I put the standard Fender back on but was back to the original problem of too much gap :(

Maybe it's not so bad, but at first impressions I wasn't happy.
I must say that this is because of the smaller tyre, nothing to do with the Fender itself.
The quality of the product was excellent.
Total cost landed here in NZ, NZ$140.00, US$100.00.

It looks good but you radiator and engine are getting no protection from the fender if you hit water of dirt. I asked on the new fellows about the front wind damper. This would offer some protection and would look even kooooler.
I would have to try a bike with a 140 before downsizing.

I spray the bike with WD40, it stops the crap from sticking and always keeps the Black Engine looking good.
I don't think water would bother either the Engine or Radiator.

Hummm? I do that with my shovels before I start digging. You say it works on the bike? o_O It don't stink when the bike heats up or leave a residue when it burns off?

THE WD 40 smells bad on an engine and I spray my snow shovels with pledge keeps the snow from sticking

PAUL use pledge it works great and smells better

Much to @1olbull's horror I've taken the 'Pledge' now after finding a can in my Mum's cupboard and got 3 cans for my BD present. After all the threads with 'Pledge' commentary I believe it is now deserving of its own forum like the 'Dark Side';);) :whitstling::whitstling:

Welp, with all the discussion on this site about this tire and that....who knew it would come down to what I could actually GET? Yep, order late in the season and the choices aren't all that good. But I did order some Bridgestone Exedra Max tires, in stock size. I would have gone with the 130 front, but I just did not want to go with bias ply and I wanted the V rating too.
