It doesn't stop them from going onto the road, but I have seen deer pause for a second to try to identify the noise, sometimes its the one second you need. But when in rut, all bets are off.
It can stop slapping ANYTIME now, I'M DOWN MOTHER FLETCHER ! About this time last fall, the wife hit a deer with her Grand Cherokee we hadn't had for a month. Then the trans in the Rocket f's up. On the way home from RAA the Grand Cherokee gets hit again by an a$$hole whilst turning into our driveway, now the recently repaired Rocket hits a deer and gets totaled. Not sure what the f_ck I did, but I hope we're getting close to calling it even
Finally got settled up with insurance. They totaled the bike which I expected. I bought it back for $450. My deductible was $500. After those fees were paid, I got $5843 dollars and the bike. I got an additional $1500 for our damaged riding gear. I think I did pretty good . This weekend I plan to start taking off the bent parts. I'll get a list posted if any of you fellow's have spare parts you want to sell. I'm buying a set of tins from Tony @Mittzy in Oz. My Rocket will be gloss black when it returns to the road. I know, it will be slower, but a complete set of tins at a very reasonable price was to hard to pass up.
Fred your insurance agent must have been on the happy bacy, $5843 for a 2005 Rocket you came away smiling my good man, now remember if your bearclaw is effed up take the mounting bit off the rear of it for me.
Now you said Tony in Australia? if it is the same Tony who hails from Ballingry in Scotland check the serial numbers on the tins---just saying

My good friend and fellow Rocketeer Lonnie @Lonzol also offered a wealth of parts. Any I don't use will be passed along to fellow Rocket riders in need. What a great bunch of blokes on this site ! Now my bike will be black, and have some of the left over parts from "Blacky"
