Welcome to the site and enjoy the ride! Don't worry about self destructing, at the end of the day we're all riders:) Besides, you don't have to agree with me politically....you have every right to be wrong:D

We have to dig deep around here to find something to disagree about since the typical argument is already settled ... what bike is the best.
Its even hard to fight over the best color since there's only like 5 choices in 5 years, but we find a way.
There are two schools of thought when it comes to fuel management too, Power Commander (PCIII's and V's) Vs. TuneBoy. (TuneBoy is Evil) lol ... But we manage to tolerate each other. You can find help and tunes for both, a few guys even use them both.
The general buzz is usually about exhaust choices, triple K&N air filters, removing the secondary throttle plates, GiPro's, "Darkside" car tire sizes/brands and of course the other typical bike stuff like seats, shocks, bars, lights, bags and windscreens.
We have our own classifieds here too, so look through that for some used goodies.
So what kind of '05 is it? Did the previous owner leave her stock or has it had some mods done? We all like to see pictures as you can tell by the gallery, so show it off.

Welcome to the site, and if you hang out here too much, plan on your new toy turning into a beast over time.

What kind of '05? The fastest kind- black of course. It comes with some goodies added on, but no performance upgrades. He bought a power commander III, but never installed it, so it does come with the bike. I don't really know much of anything about what it is and isn't supposed to do. I'll plead complete ignorance for the moment. It has a roadster screen, Triumph gel seats and leather bags and luggage rack... so first things first I need to see it naked with the single saddle.

It has been sitting in a barn unused for at least two years...

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Hi from grizzdan

newbie

ya I'm a newbie here. Been riding since I was a pup though I quit it to be a dad but now they are grown. I have a friend that kept offering his Road King to ride so after putting 800 miles on his bike and being caught smiling spontaneously, my wife asked me when I was going to get one. Only needed to ask once, I bought a 2003 Road King, nice typical Harley, loud and comfy ride. Then I saw one of them Rockets in a parking lot this April and "wondered what that's like".
A couple weeks later I thought about it again, had an afternoon off and called a couple places to see if they had anything I could ride. Ya sure come on in we have a 2005 here you can ride.
Low mileage bike but all broke in so I took it out for a burn. Pushed it pretty hard on a narrow 2 lane figuring it would either scare me or love/hate would take hold.

**** thing was unbelievable!

To make matters worse there was another bike that had pulled in while I took my 1st ride. The guy had 50k mi on it, apparently never washed, and the pegs were burned off to the center screws!
I was in lust, went in and put down a deposit without even haggling. Obviously out of my mind, but the entire shop & atmosphere was so laid back with no pressure so I really have no regrets. Besides I would like them to still be in business when I need something.
One week and 800 miles later!! Now its believable.

Release the beast!

Hello all! I am in Mississippi, thoroughly enjoy my R3T and am looking to release the beast in my beauty. Just hoping to meet a few R3 owners who have some good info.

Rob,
what part of Mississippi you hail from?
I've lived there about half my life.
Bought my first Rocket in Hattiesburg.
Brothers still live a little south of there.
Good folks,
good roads,
Good food.
Real Good winters compared to Oklahoma.
Welcome aboard and ride safe,

Yo, Rob and welcome to the site from New Jersey.
