New 2008 Rocket III Owner

I am a Triumph newbie and just brought home my slightly used (748 miles when bought) one year old Rocket III today. I am still the proud owner of a 2007 Suzuki M109 that I purchased new as my first bike about 1.5 years ago. I guess you have to take the training wheels off some time. I thought my M109 had some pull. The Rocket has an AMAZING amount of GRUNT!! I am falling in love with motorcycles all over again. :p This will make my long daily Southern California commute just that much more bearable. ;) The problem will be which one to pick for the long drive from Moreno Valley to Long Beach. :D

Thanks for the welcome

I have been taking the R3 to wrok and it handles really nice. It is even easier to ride than the M109. AND the GRUNT to pass is absolutely AMAZING. One of the on-line mags described it as the "Flying Squirrel" effect. Finger tips on the handle bars with body and legs trailing in the wind. Truly sublime. I am quickly forgetting about my "howitzer".

I am REALLY glad I got this thing. Only challenge is that I have the mini fairing and I really need a full wind screen. Just another excuse to shop on-line. :D

Just joined

Hi,

Just joined. Been thinking of upgrade on my bike in 12 mths and looking at the options. I was sold on either a Suzuki M90 or M109 and get a Rocket in a few more years, but now thinking of going direct for the biggie. I just love the size and look of the beast.

Welcome to the site. M109 seems like a decent bike, but there is a lot of plastic chrome on it. And it is slower than the Rocket.:D

Welcome! The Suzuki is a very dependable ride. Have you looked at the C109? Almost the same performance as the M109 and you get cruiser style. If I didn't LOVE:p my R3T so much, that is what I would be riding.
The Suzuki riders have a great forum too.
