Weird speedometer issue

Only one thing. Wasn't the canbus added a little later and on the roadster. From what I gather and info from others my 05 model should work without an adapter (but cannot run roadster clocks).
That's the issue in one. You have teh advantage of being able to fit pretty much ANY generic clocks - But no Roadster CANBUS ones. KOSO and DAYTONA clocks are made in Taiwan - they have to be cheaper darn under - ask @Ishrub for assistance - he is strong in the ways of Google-Fu. I would fit KOSO before Dakota. I am going to ask Ken if he can help me debug the idiot lights a bit. Then it's just a case of finding if what you like is compatible.

It is VERY OTT but I have a sneaking admiration for this KOSO RXF Multifunction Gauge | Digital-speedos

I've been happy with the Koso tach I put on my R3T. I even had a support question and got several replies to my questions. I figured the problem out myself but gleaned what the problem might be from some of the support correspondents.

I don't know how the speedo works on your Triumph, but I do know that devices that require a constant positive and negative supply from the battery before being triggered on by a separate trigger wire will get screwed up if there is any issue with that constant supply voltage. Even a few milliseconds on power delay will cause issues. I'll be doing a write up on that when I discuss my Amplink/PDM60 install.

I’m having the exact same issue with my speedo. I just decided to replace rather than dig into it too much.

Does anyone know if this guage will work on my ‘05?

Direct Fit Speedometer

Seems like it may be a canbus system but I’m never going to claim I know too much. It looks great, love the functions, just don’t know if it will work.

I had the same thing on a Chevy truck, guy in Norman Oklahoma rebuilt speedo after I sent it to him.
