Nice trip into Wales on Sunday, with a stop in Chester. I wanted to check how much frost damage there had been on some of the runs we'll be doing from the Wirral 2010 Salvo. Thankfully not much, so far.

At the infamous Ponderosa, with the bike doing what it does best, being a tart;

I tend to stand well back when it's parked up. I get too many questions otherwise. Just before this was taken some guy asked if I would marry him, and his mate asked if I would mind if he shagged my exhaust.

One meets the strangest people in Wales. :eek:

My fav ice cream stop in Chester. :D

Where abouts in Broxton? I usually call in at Chester before heading over to Wales for some race rep hunting. :eek:

Hi Joker and other UK Captains!!!

I hope to meet up with you all (sorry, been in the USA too long!) at the Wirral Salvo, if there are any places left? I am importing my R3 from Florida in 3 weeks or so, so not really sure how long it will take to get to the UK - I am guessing a minimum of 6 weeks or so - anyways, keep the posts and photos coming, you have an awesome bike and a great sense of humour, I have just ordered a fast gun seat from Corbin in CA, rush job, after much fretting and wussing I decided to go for an all carbon fibre leather look jobbie, sight unseen, one of the reasons being it is supposed to be quite grippy and stops you sliding around on the seat, allegedly - I currently use a Triumph solo gel seat most of the time, pretty good but I hope for much better from the Corbin - I looked at your photos of your Corbin v closely and it looks the dogz bollox, just chickened out in the end going for a black ostrich seat and yellow snakeskin surround to match my paint job, which is kinda yellow and magenta/purple flames ... OK enough babbelling,

Cheers!

Anders

Anders,

Great to hear you're coming back home mate! Don't worry about the accent, come up to the Wirral Salvo and we'll have you talking like a Scouser before you leave. I'll put you on the list, there's still plenty of room. Sounds like an interesting paint job you have, I'll look forward to seeing it. Have you got any links to pics of it? I think you may have been right about the seat being a bit garish though, but sometimes garish is good. I find the Corbin much better than Triumph's seats. It seems hard at first, but it's much more comfortable.

Keep in touch and I'll see you at the end of July. :cool:

If anyone else would like to join us there are more details here;

Hi Joker, quite a lot of bikes call at the burger bar truck at Broxton roundabout on A41. Coming from Chester hit the r/bt & turn right then make a left in 50yds, Lots stop there on way to/from the horsehoe pass, (we did on Sunday). Hope to see you (well the beast anyway)

I know the one. An old mate of mine used to rent part of the old police house on the roundabout when he had his third kid and gave up the travelling life. We enjoyed the irony.

I'll call in there next time I'm out n about.

Cheers Joker, looking forward to it! A mate of mine here in Florida is a scouser and he also always gets me into trouble when we go out on the lash, he keeps buying me Jagermeisters and lining them up next to my pint, and my will goes, every time!

I've just attached a couple of photos and started a thread on the Corbin - just put it on this afternoon and it is VERY firm compared to the gel seat - still getting used to it, only did 10 miles at low speeds, I think I may be sitting a tad higher than the gel (I was expecting lower) tho that may be my imagination - did one very fast 0-60mph from the lights and it was just as I was expecting, I could plant my arse in the wedge and I felt much more in control - first impressions - very very pleased with it - went all carbon-fibre look leather in the end, mainly as I will be buying another Rocket III in the USA next October, so I plan on bringing the seat over with me in my luggage! The new project bike will be all black carbon fibre, or may a subtle dark carbon fiber colour, still, got 6 months to think about that one...

Cheers!

Anders
