Yeah I was just wondering why a lot of guys seem to be doing it themselves.

Distance to a decent Tuner who knows what he is doing is probably the biggest thing.
I have a few (emphasis on "few") clues, but if I was within riding distance of Victor Harbour, I'd be on my way there now.....

I suppose we take our bikes to these guys when we don't want to do the tune ourselves with this TuneECU I keep hearing about? Is that correct?

TuneECU is very helpful. However it is not a substitute for a good dynotune. Once dynotuned you can save the tune with TuneECU.
