Viking Exhaust for my Roadster

Any slip on silencer is only going to change the noise any power increase would be so small it would make you laugh , now go with Paul's complete system(which I would recommend) then you will have a work of art and some more power.(when tuned correctly)

Yes I thought as much, but does the Rocket really need any more power? A change in sound is certainly needed I think, probably cause my last bike was a Harley before falling in love with a Rocket, which really makes a Harley look like a bicycle now to me.

Welcome Marco,
We met yesterday. Paul's systems are the best finished I have seen.
As you say yesterday, I have the Viking headers with the Supertrapp muffler. I went that way because I liked the look and sound. Paul's entire system is excellent too.
I also like the Rinehart muffler, but apparently it is no longer available.

You can get the system in satin black or polished aluminium finishes.
Performance will be about the same whether you use the standard muffler or and aftermarket one. Sound will vary depending on the muffler.
Other good systems are made by Reband at Victor Harbor and CES from Queensland.
You should change the air intake at the same time. Ramair and K&N make great replacements that fit under the bear claw. You can remove plenty of plastic and save a bit of weight too.
You are definitely going to need a decent tune. Let me know and I can help.
Plenty of people will be along shortly with their opinions and ideas.

Hi there, great meeting you all Sunday. I've just purchased a Ramair to get the ball rolling, now trying to decide on the exhaust. I'll get your number from Mick so I can get in touch with you once I need someone to tune? I think you said a bloke down at VH is the best.

I just put on an exhaust system similar to Vikings system and there is (along with an appropriate tune and either Ram Air or K&N pods) a remarkable increase in power.

My advice, get the full system, yes its more money but to just make more noise, its a waste of time.

As far as heat goes, I notice very little difference from stock. But if you have hyway pegs your gonna probably need some heat shields or your gonna get warm!

Yes I understand why you would say waste of time. I guess I figure the Rocket doesn't need more power and my objective is to mainly get a different note, reduce weight and maintain a similar look to standard. But yeah I do love the look of the full system and I guess we only live once.

@Rock It Just so you know this straight up @Paul Bryant is a member here, so what everyone is telling you is that he will be along soon.

Welcome to the forum. Great People here.

Thanks mate, this is my first forum and I'm already having a great experience with the people on here helping out with my question.

Full System, Ramair and different tune is the way to go. I do have a bit of a challenge with dress trousers that I wear to work (melted a couple) but have ordered some heat shields from "Wish" for $10 that should fix that - they tend to flap more than my riding gear so get near the header. I love the noise with Pauls pipe. Crisp and businesslike.
I can see why you don't think that the Rocket needs any more power ....... most of us thought that once but over time you will get to full twist and wonder if any more can come. The good news is that there is plenty of capacity in these bikes so you can just keep going.
I do a lot of riding in central Australia and overtaking "roadtrains" can keep you on the wrong side of the road for extended periods but on the Rocket, approaching the rear of a "B Triple" (triple length semi) at 120kph, I find that I often twist to full on and back off as I pass the cab ...... usually at around 170 to 180kph with only a couple of seconds exposed time on the wrong side of the road.
Short answer .... get the full system ..... its made to go together. One day you will need all the power you can get ..... this is the first step. There will be more:thumbsup:

Welcome Rock It, Paul has a good rep here as you can read. I ordered just the header which I should be getting soon. Others have said that the header is the heart and soul of the system. If you can tolerate more noise of course you'll have larger gains. I'm just hoping to gain my lower end torque, as others have and keep the loudness to a minimum. I de-catted the stockers and bought a different cross over pipe. Good luck.

Paul is also working on a 3 into 2 system. If you like the standard system this might be a goer.

As others have said "I'll be along shortly"

Well as I am the "seller" and Rock is looking for some constructive (or otherwise) criticism, I prefer to stay back and let others ("the market") have their say, who knows, I might learn something.

As Boony has said, I do have a twin muffler system in production now, this can either slip straight onto the stock header, or can be set up with my header.

Hi mate, you make a good point but I guess my objective here is to reduce weight & change the note. My riding is more about maintaining cornering speed than straight line speed. I recently did a road trip with the girlfriend and luggage and still had no problem overtaking anything. There is so much power in these Rockets. Thanks for you input though, you suggestion to go all out has been taken on board.
