Valve spring compressor?

What valve spring compressor are you using for the 2300? I have the head off and want to remove the valves to clean them up.

I had a guy fab me up a tool eons ago that used a large C-clamp. It compressed the springs enough to remove the checks. I think I still have the C-clamp somewhere, but the tool is long gone.

I bought one off amazon a few years ago, nothing spectacular and works fine. Probably cost $20 - $30. It's completely different from the conventional automotive ones. It's strong enough to replace the springs that came with cams and kit from Neville Lush.

I use the ones you strike or push on, like these kind. Also have used a deep well socket with a heavy piece of plastic covering end to push keepers in place.

It works on the same principle as automotive spring compressor, just not as heavy duty.

Yeap I've a couple of those kits, they work perfectly for Rockets and other bikes.

Yes I have this one I purchased to install my NLR 200 HP kit. I had 2 bad valves to replace and all the new double springs and keepers.
