Two Different Worlds.

I still have a Harley FLH and it is fine for what it is; taking a relaxing ride for 2 at a leisurely pace and listing to the nice noises it makes. The power difference is astonishing, but the Harley isn't a bad bike. Just different. I always hesitate to bash any marque. They all have their plusses and minuses. I have owned or ridden just about everything out there, and the Rocket is up there with the best, but I can see why people wouldn't want one. It IS a monster both in size and power, and is too much for many. For me it is just right!

YES your correct the ROCKET is not going to sell like hot cakes to everyone as its a monster in size and power and scares the hell out of of a lot of riders But thats what makes it popular to the riders that appreciate the HP and TRQ and love its great design that stands alone in the world of motorcycling

I did not write that to bash Harley Davidson Motorcycles. I did write it to bash the image Harley Davidson has tried real hard to create. Apparently it has worked rather well for them. It sells bikes but for someone like myself it is not appealing at all. :(:(:(:(

Harley didn't create their image any more than they created most of their current lineup. They fought the bad-ass image for many many years and almost went out of business because of it. They knew every outlaw club in America rode Harleys as did the rest of the US. It was their image like it or not. So they did a 180 and embraced what everyone already knew and they took off like a rocket. The rest is history, and a pretty good one for them. Almost every 'custom' they make now is created by going to bike shows and seeing what the builders are doing, then replicating it at the factory. Kind of a reverse engineering of their own product. Pure genius!

Bull. They even advertised back in the 70's to the present as being a bad boys bike. That is how they got to where they are today. Pure genius not really. Present sales are slipping because I believe not only a weak economy but also the younger generation is not buying the image at all. I for one prefer not to be associated with the image or possibly promote it. After riding the Rocket for the almost six months and waking up to reality of how sorry the Harley thing is maybe it is time to grow up and sell the Fatboy. Game over.:x3::x3::x3::x3:

years ago used bunch of friends rode Harleys, chile would not buy a pair of boots that were not reinforced so thy would not get wore out kickstarting his bike, sleazy bob the only smart one imo if it didn't start 2 or 3 kicks first chance he would be adjusting the points my 72 bonne no matter how cold [or if it sat more than an hour] tickle &fill those amal carbs kick once turn on the key find compression kick it again away you go.never impressed me to break a sweat trying to get youre bike started then have all that noise and not much go
