That almost as bad as talking car tire stuff. I bought the cheap chineze knock offs on ibay, not just for the lumens but for the reduced load on the front main switch. I hardly if ever ride at night so for me is not an issue. If you do, then there's other advice from senior Owls coming your way.

Here is the LEDs I bought. It really is easy, pop off the trim ring and the headlight assembly pops out. Unplug the connector, set aside, plug in new and slide them up in place. Reinstall trim ring.
Admittedly you need to make sure the connector goes in one of the flat spots in the bottom back when sliding the new back in. But it is easy.
