Turbo Kits currently available?

When you get this worked out @Claviger , buy two of everything, and sell me a kit please.

Just so you know, I have RAMAir, and Viking 3-into-1 for a starting point.

There is another side benefit of turbo chargers I like, and that is in their fundamental operation they are extracting otherwise waste energy in the exhaust, and some of that energy they extract cuts way down on the noise.

If I had the money I would call rbracing and see if they could build a lot for you. Their primary market is HE but they used to build kits for Goldwings as well.

I have indeed. A properly sized turbo will make more torque than a centrifugal supercharger at low/mid RPM, which is what I’m going to build for, something that’ll spoil rapidly and fully by 2000-2500 RPM to make it feel like a much larger motor.

I really like the centrifugal system available but it doesn’t make the torque curve I’m leaning towards for this build.

HE as in heheheHD, Norm?

Rob there is only one way to describe a Captain such as yourself and it's best done via this...

Thanks, while I’m in the research phase all options are good options!

I do already have a brand new custom turbo sitting in the garage though and some bigger injectors stashed away :p

So should we experiment on my Touring Rob or just do the tune?

I spoke of this, and you, today to my Victory tuner/riding friend. He's a retired USMC Master Sergeant. He'd like to stop by when you and Steve come over to download a performance tune on my 3T. I told him that you might get one some day and install a turbo and he's reaction was "WHAT?" He's pretty impressed with my Rocket and said he'd tried to catch me a couple of times so didn't understand why I wanted to increase HP and torque. I think I told him it was because I can. And that reminds me of the time I rode my 07 Classic to a BMW riding friend's house for BBQ. That was back when I had my 1976 R90/6. One of the Beemer guys was staring at my Rocket, looked up and just said; "Why?" I gave him the same answer as I recall. He was one of those arrogant Beemer real snot balls though.

My friend also asked me the same question as did you at lunch the other day, what did I want to achieve. I told him I wasn't really sure but we'd talk about it when you come over. I keep using the term, optimum performance" as apposed to max.

Boost It in Rapid City, ND makes a great setup for the standard. Maybe it will fit the T3 as well. The turbo fits between the engine and rear tire, so the T3 should have the same amount of room. The airbox and intake would be the same, not to mention the oiling system. I guess the tune might be different though.

Still exploring options but I’m fairly heavily leaning towards just bitting the bullet and going custom at this point. I’d completely forgotten about the KO3 in the garage until A couple days ago. Conveniently it’s sized a little on the small size, but, will still flow enough for 275whp at 20 psi and is internally gated.

Now I really need to do some hard thinking about a couple of things, boost control and manifold style being the main questions.

Thinking Eboost for control, it allows by gear boost control and you can shape the curve if you want to delay onset if it’s spooling too fast. Used it in my last boosted toy and the ability to use only 7 psi in 1st, 12 psi in second and 24 psi+ in 3-5 was very nice for traction.

Manifold, not sure, need to get some time to stare at a touring in person I think to see how I want to do it.

Hilarious I’m planning all this out before buying the bike lol.

All part of the 7 P's !! Keep the thoughts in writing, it makes very interesting reading.

Well lol, I’ll be sure to document everything well when it gets to that point. Honestly with the low comp ratio and beefy ass motor I can’t believe no one has fully documented a turbo build, or at least not one I have seen.
