As the title says, anyone know of a tuner that knows these new Gen 3's in Northern Illinois? I have the Penner tune and Werkes exhaust and I love it. I would like to get the most from it though and it seems to run a bit rich, maybe not as smooth as it could be. Ideally someone that has a dyno. Any info appreciated 👍🏽

cant help with tuner in you area, sorry
I do have some thoughts - use, dont use…

I assume you loaded the penner map yourself? if so undo only the fueling changes (if you think its richJ on the penner (put the original tables back) and see how she runs.
on a dyno and similar to penner they will custom the tune for 3rd gear only which at least for me is kind of pointless.
If I recall correctly penner only added fuel down low and actuality reduced fuel close to redline…

penner map, dyno, air filter, exhaust… it becomes a bottomless pit.

unrestricted throttle map, remove top speed limiter add a little splash of fuel if needed. nothing more is required.
moreover, tuner will likely use piggy back unit to make the changes which IMO is NOT the way to go.
the standard map is not far off, just the throttle restrictions.

do a “road dyno” - what you want to do is use something like innovate wideband AFR analysor inserted into you exhaust. then actually ride the bike on the road and record the AFR live. not on a dyno/artificial run.
I overlay his data with tune ecu datalogger so I know exactly which gear, throttle position etc. this way you get a much more accurate feedback across the all gears and riding conditions with exact AFR readings.

im no expert, so just my thoughts. best wishes

Do you think the air filter makes a huge difference? Also, I have the Penner tune installed. Do you recommend changes to it. For me, it runs fine.

Penner’s tune is intended for the stock bike. Doesn’t the Werkes exhaust eliminate the cat?

I have the stock exhaust modified to have the cat removed and run the Penner tune. Bike runs very well. From what I understand the ECU does make minor corrections to fuel ratio etc.
