TuneECU, ECU on Roadster is not responding anymore

Yes, you're right; the grease is supposed to be there.

How about the possible antivir application problem Tom and I suggested earlier?
Have you tried recovery without such software installed?

Mika

Alain gave me this:

"you must try to connect to ECU in Edit Map mode with a Roadster map open."

I am not sure that I do this every time, but TuneECU remembers the map that was loaded the last time so usually the program starts with the last map loaded anyway.

load a Roadster map. exit the program. start the program again. map loaded automatically?
anyway, load a map, then try to connect to the bike.

my last tip otherwise would be to go back to Triumph shop and ask them to reset the ECU using their tools. you don't have to admin anything to them. they can't know that you failed to download a map. just act as a not satisfied customer with a bike that is malfunctioning during the warranty period!

UPDATE ... SUCCESS

First, yes I had tested the Antivirus angle without success. I also have maps loaded (it does auto-load the last one), both using my modded map and an original.

What worked:
I did a Google search for non-responding Triumph ECUs and ended up on a triumph675.net forum. A guy suggested to someone that he had to put the fuses back in and instead unplug the actual headlights ... that the ECU wouldn't be "up" with the fuse out. He had several guys refute that.
Regardless, I decided to try it. I had two fuses out .. 9 and 10. One stopped the headlights, the other the secondary running lamp (also in the headlight enclosure). So I hooked up a larger battery charger, put the fuses back in and tested.
I had immediate success. Recovery of factory map occurred immediately. I made the mods again (secondaries) and re-uploaded ... again immediate success.
So it would appear that for the Roadster the fuses MUST be in place? Anyone else that has modded tunes w/ TuneECU have success w/o the fuses in??

Wow,

I never would have thought.
Congratulations to the revitalization of your bike.

Just for security, it must be plugged all the fuses?

I've had the fuse for headlights (can't remember the number, but a 20A fuse) pulled out
always when successfully downloading a map into ECU. Battery voltage seemed to be dropping even with a charger connected if the fuse was in.

First time I tried downloading a map to ECU I had the fuse in. I ended up with an unresponding ECU. Thinking afterwards; maybe the problem was caused by decreasing battery voltage. Anyway, I won't try it again with the headlights on... :D

Jaredmt, glad to hear you got it fixed!

I had two out .. a 20A and a 5A. The picture for the 5A looked like running lights. Removal of it stopped the secondary lights in the headlight assembly from shining (the 20A only stopped the primary headlight bulb).
Not sure if it was the 5A that had to be in or both. Since you have a 2010 Roadster as well, maybe that answers that question: The 20A can be out, but not the 5A next to it? (meaning those secondary lamps will remain on .. small price to pay to have it actually work!)
The theory on the 675 forum was that anything that would keep the bike from being able to start under normal circumstances (from kill switch, to fuses, to not being in neutral) would prevent proper ECU connection.
Sure am happy to be back up 'n running ... and w/ secondaries always open t'boot, regardless of my GiPRo setting. :)

All the progress looks great here.

I have a 2010 Roadster with the secondary’s removed, the cable is on its way to me, will be doing the Jardines and the three RU-1770’s filters. Do we have a tune for this set up yet?

What would be a good way to remove the secondary rod and plugging up the holes in throttle body’s? Has this been done??

I don't believe there is a Roadster tune like that up yet, though I could be wrong. I'm aware of one non-factory tune posted and it is w/ after market exhaust, but I don't know which nor do I know if it's adjusted for those filters.
It would be good to get some of those. At some point I may want to do that too.
For the secondaries ... I don't know that removing the rod as well has any tangible benefit. Anyone? Or will that just facilitate your new filters?
And when you do your tune ... only take out the main 20A headlight fuse and leave the 5A alone!!! Trust one who knows all too well! :D
