TuneEcu connection

Am I missing something here?

Lonelec cable
2.12.18 drivers in both com 4 and USB controller from the TuneECU website.
Blue light is on the cable plug showing a connection.

..........."cannot connect to ECU"

The cable is okay as it connects via android

I've tried it without removing any fuses just in case but no change, I even tried removing all the drivers and letting windows sort it out as Lonlec suggest but no difference.

If I go into TuneECU/Interface/USB FT232R USB UART is there but greyed out - does that mean something?

What am I doing wrong?

Try connecting the cable to bike and laptop with key on BEFORE opening TuneECU. Open TuneECU and select connect and you should get a good connection. Otherwise, do the same from a different USB port.

is your kill switch on, thats what got me I thought just the key needed to be on.

Yes, but a lot of information there is contradictory which is why I wrote my specific configuration here.

No, I never use it and have not 'accidentally' hit it.

Pretty sure that's one of the configurations I've tried but will have another attempt.

Have gone into ECU and ticked com4 and also USB interface

Red block now blinks faster, stops then starts again

With the USB port connected to the bike, ignition on and program open, go to OPTIONS, then INTERFACE, then USB, then click on your USB ID. You might be trying to connect via serial port in the ECU program?

Sorry to see you're having problems. Looks like you're doing the right things.There was a member on here a couple of weeks back with a similar issue but sorry can't remember how it was resolved.
Have you looked under the options tab on TuneEcu and checked auto connect?
What's the system software on your laptop?

I know it doesn't help but didn't have to do any tricks on mine. Just removed headlamp fuse, hooked up battery charger, conected cable to bike and laptop, ignition on and it connected.

Please identify what information you find contradictory, and I'll try to resolve that.

Search for my latest post on this topic, and you'll see the best advice I've been able to collect, and for at least several people, have resolved their issues.

Before you get it to work, it's likely frustration. After it "clicks", you'll forget there was ever an issue.

The first, and I believe most important issue, is it's not clear whether I should use the TuneECU FTDI link drivers - as Lonelec instructions (specifically for TuneECU) say it's best to allow windows to sort it out.

I have tried both scenarios without success.

This is another contradiction, some posts say have this ticked and others, including Lonelec say no.

Again, have tried both.

It's really annoying that I can connect via android but not do anything with that connection but look at things!

I'm deep into the 4th bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon at the moment so will not try anything tonight but am seriously considering doing a complete wipe of the laptop and starting from scratch! (no, not really).
