Good Morning All.. I just installed a set of tor's on my 07 R3 classic. Now I didn't remove the factory Cat box, will I need a different tune... Also for the money what would the best buy a Tune boy or a PCIII and where would I look to buy one.. Thanks Jimmy

JimmyD,
You will need to drop a tune, you're local Triumph dealer can drop it for you without the need for either Tuneboy or PC3.

For the PC3 discussion, make copious use of the search tool in the Performance forum, or the Trading Tunes forum and you'll find several discussions of OC3 vs. Tuneboy.

The short version, is it depends on what you want to do.

For starters:

If your cat box has catalyst, the tune is 20225. If not, the tune is 20228. Your dealer should install the appropriate tune for free.

On the other hand, you could blow $395 on the cat bypass pipe and another $400 on Tuneboy and you'd have a cooler sounding bike with more power.

What if you could get them to put the tune in for no cat box? Would this eleminate the decell popping? I have the same setup ( TORs w/empty cat box). I have not put in a tune yet hoping I would come across a used bypass but it looks like I might go ahead and have a tune put in.

None of the Triumph tunes will help with decel popping. And loading any of the Triumph tunes for cat, no cat, TORs or whatever is just going to limit power. If you look at the secondary maps for these tune they have them closing throughout all of the gears. This is Triumph's genius way of richening up the fuel mix.

I would stick with the 20222 tune or get a PCIII or Tuneboy. Just my opinion.
