TTS has been updating the crank drive and bearing area over the years. I have seen a couple variations. I believe he no longer uses the pin bearing type and complete drive with gear. he now uses the OEM crank gear with a drive hub that goes on the end of the crank and a roller bearing. in fact my newest style used a roller bearing (Ball type) and I think since this style he has gone with a larger roller (Ball type)bearing. These are on the newest design which changes to hydraulic clutch actuator and the ability to open the clutch without pulling the cover. I have not heard of any problems with the newer style.
Let me guess your needle bearing ate up the end of the pulley drive shaft and she is leaking oil?
