While my Rocket is getting painted because the other guy did a ****ty job.
I decided to make a trunk since I learn so much from that metal guy that did my fabrication, so I bought a welder and English wheel and I have gotten this far, the back will have sunk in brake light at bottom back to match my fender brake lights. How should I open it? From top? Or back? All done in 16 gauge aluminum. Should I open on the top tapper?and opening will be smaller or should I open from the bottom half? And opening will be larger

Great stuff!
If you have the lid using the top smaller taper edge, you will find it harder to seal from water entering.
The best place to have a seal is under the lower wider taper so the water runs 'off' not 'in'. You will also get stuff in and out more easily with wider opening.
Hinge at front with rear and maybe side latches to ensure a good seal all around.

Yes I'm thinking wider is better as well, thinking of putting a lip on both sides top and bottom and putting a 1/2 rubber all around top and bottom so when you close it the two rubbers will meet this way no water will get in.
Or put a lip all around so no water will get in?
Putting a lock at the back thinking of putting a hinge on so lid will stay open.
But when get my bike back this week and if it doesn't suit my look of bike I won't put it on:)
This is my brake lights I'm going to counter sink at the back. Not finished shopping yet but should give an idea:)
