AMEN
I'll testify brother,
I'll testify...
No secondaries,
the 5 K&N's,
GiPro w/ ATRE
Dobeck,
Cat Bypass,
TORS,
Car Tire,
All the fun thats legal.....
In one package...;)

Don't forget about the GiPro to get the timing advanced in low gears and for the postion display. You mentioned one before, did you already get one?
The combination of removed secondaries and the GiPro really makes the bike fun in 1st gear.
the gipro is connected and doing his things (you fill in the technical explanation) the dobeck I have not yet ordered as I was weighting my options between tune boy, PC111and dobeck etc and I do not want to play too much with electronics since I am allergic to the concepts in general so I will pull the screwdriver from the toolbox and remove those secondaries , then will install the dobeck which is simple enough for me to understand and tune. no need to connect the bike to any computer just turning knobs till it run and sound good , I can do that.

and come june we will test all this new found power on the german autobhan . there is no better place on earth to ride a bike than the alps and the autobahns. but that is another debate

I guess I'm not up to speed on the dobec thing and it's tune process, but without a ballpark baseline tune tailored to what your setup is, wouldn't you need a dyno and exhaust gas anylizer to correctly adjust the fuel trim?

I know you don't like to think about this, but - If you have the 20219 tune loaded, the GiPro shouldn't be doing anything to the timing since the timing tables are the same for 1st - 5th. It's also not doing anything with the secondaries, which remain partially closed in all gears until you take them out.

If you take the manifold off to remove the secondaries, which in my opinion is a royal pain in the ass, put the K&N RU-2780 filters on at the same time. You're going to need to add fuel anyway for the missing secondaries. I find it hard to believe that tweaking the injectors with a Dobeck and listening for a smooth response is going to optimize your tune. With the 20219 tune in there, getting a PCIII with O2 sensor controller and custom dyno tuning it is your best bet.

Tuneboy is only going to help you if you want to eliminate the rev and speed limiters, correct the speedo, and mess with the timing, which I wouldn't recommend.

Dougl you're saying that there is a Triumph tune (20219) that eliminates the 7% power reduction. I believe you are mistaken, I don't know of any tune from Triumph that does that.

I'm not saying that. The 20219 closes the secondaries but if you take them out and use a PCIII to make up for the needed fuel, the power restriction will be eliminated.

DO NOT DO THIS TO ME.....
I thought I had it figured out and now I am back to square one before going any further DOUGL check this out, seemed pretty simple to me and supposedly simple enought for an average person who hates electronics

http://www.dobeckperformance.com/instructions/1037ST.pdf

should I have requested another tune at the triumph dealership? is this 219 tune better or worse than say the 220 , no ,do not answer that.
I am close to electronic overload......... I will get back to this board tommorow I need to breathe first.

If you want to do non-OEM mods, you have to deal with this crap.

If you go the route of taking the secondaries out, you still have to increase the fuel whether you put the triple filters in or not. Whether you get a PCIII or a Dobeck, the 20219 tune should be OK. However, your GiPro isn't doing anything because the fuel, secondaries, and timing settings are the same in all gears for this tune.

I've read the Dobeck stuff. It's described as an electronic jet adjuster. Like it or not, EFI is more complicated than jetted carbs. I'll believe that you can adjust the fuel on a modded Rocket by turning some pots and listening to the exhaust note when I see the dyno power and A/F curves.

I found that Jack Daniel's and Xanax works well for overloads.
