I went to the Triumph 2018 New Model Reveal Party held in Boise, ID. Thursday night. They revealed 3 versions of the new Speedmaster, Bobber Black, and the new Tiger 800 cc and 1200 cc. Had a really good time. I spoke to the factory rep about the new Rocket. He said it was hoped to have it ready for 2019 release. He said it will be an all new bike with cruise control and all the goodies we have been asking for. Funny thing is he still denies he knows anything about the displacement.

Non retune-able ECU. Euro4 (or maybe even Euro 5 ready) so that means an EVAP container too. FlyByWire - no thanks.

I want a 500kms range tank - bet that does not happen - neither will an Automatic or Diesel option.

Oh and most importantly - It has to be half the price of the old ones.

I think we should anticipate it will be Euro 5 compliant - why would anyone launch non compliant bike one year before Euro 5 regulation becomes obligatory. And I agree with the rest - there is a chance it will be an beast.. with no balls.

I hope for the 2019 model they have fired the guy who built mine in 2005:rolleyes: and hopefully the other guy who designed the transmission has got over his cocaine addiction and goes to bed at a reasonable hour to rest so he can think straight during the day:whitstling:

With the new Euro restrictions, I can see the folks from POWER COMMANDER rubbing their hands and thinking "Thanks Triumph for the job security".
