Triump vs Harley

....... did a 450 klm round trip to Milthorpe today https://www.google.com.au/maps/plac...m2!3m1!1s0x6b11cc0af6c42c61:0x40609b490436740 ) via some back roads after crossing the Blue Mountains, in company with a very nice 07 Rocket, 2 x 105 Anniversary FatBoys, a Superglide , a Streetglide and a Yamaha V Star. The bloke on the 07 Rocket traded a Harley (on his Rocket) a few years back. He loves his Rocket and he asked me what could you ever replace a Rocket with ...... I just said that I just didn't know and that I was on my third Rocket after trying several (many) other bikes. BTW, all the Harley riders love their bikes too and they never missed a beat. The Yammie guy was very generous with his praise for both the Harleys and the Triumphs, I don't think he will keep his Yammie much longer.

V-Max, V-Rod, fat Boys blah, blah blah, In my opinion The Rocket is the most versatile big cruiser on the market. And it is the most fun bike I have ever owned in my 40 plus years of riding. The question posed by garyclem's friend was; what do you replace a Rocket with? My Answer is Another Rocket.

Im shocked at what the local HD dealer charges for routine service

The problem with Harley is the heart of a motorcycle is the powerplant and they don't have anything that can compare to the ROCKET engine.

True enough. But check out my 1965 XLCH and 1946 Knuck Bobber. I built both from crankpin up, and check out how the powerplants stand up. Not tons of power in either, but for looks and nostalgia, they are hard to beat. The 46 was a two for two show winner, and the XLCH got more attention than any bike I ever owned in my life. Sold em both for stupid money, and another XLCH is in my future. I just like em! Rocket is a different animal altogether.

Very nice machines,, not enough power> there are more things to a bike than just power, you did a very good job

HARLEY does a good job with paint and chrome and advertising that's for sure if that's all you want then its a good choice But looks like Indian is going for the same market and taking customers from Harley The local Harley salesman said his sales are down 50 percent

That Knuck is gorgeous
