The way I drive my bike that is the least likely damage that will occur. Worn out tires and parts are a badge of riding accomplishment.
 
I never put the bike in neutral in case I need to jet and get out of the way of some dip sh** not paying attention to their driving. Too many morons out there on cell phones ready to run up your ass and blow red lights. That's just the way it is in this state and it's getting way worse by the day. I keep it in first and position myself between lanes/cars watching my rear view. My heads on a swivel at lights and stop signs. I try to be semi aggressive to be seen but not a di**. I wait to be a di** when I get home. At least that's what my wife says.
 
You should see what riding a bike has turned into in Canada. Every year now we’re flooded by ppl coming from countries with dirt roads, no painted lines, no traffic signs, and virtually zero traffic laws. I have way more “close calls” these days then ever before. I would never recommend to anyone to get a bike license anymore. It’s only a high degree of experience keeping me alive at this point.

Sitting at a light in 1st with the clutch in is like sitting at a light with out a helmet and telling your self your never going to need it.
50,000 th clutch fells just like the day i bought it.
