I want an input jack on my bike that i can just plug into and a device (even better a portable one) in my garage trickle charges the battery and turns off automatically.Wonder whats out there that will do that?

I was having trouble with cold weather starts(below 32 F) on the stock battery so I picked up the battery tender and I was still having difficulty in cold weather. Picked up the Optimate 3 charger at the dealer last winter. No more cold start problems. It has a quick disconnect plug thats really convient. Its also suppose to charge gel batteries too so next battery replacement I'll switch from stock to gel and can still use the same charger. I think I paid $70.

Triumph's own accessory jack is neat and it's easy to use so I regularly plug my car's trickle charger into it when I put the bike into the garage. My 2004 battery is still perfect so this suggests that batterys last well if trickle charged regularly. I would guess that any quality charger will be fine if it is easy to connect so that you will use it regularly.

I was wondering if you could use the Triumph jack that comes with the bike. Can the battery tender or Optimate plug into the standard Triumph power jack?
