So far so good on the transmission front here. My '05 shifts smoothly with no problems approaching 15,000 miles. It shifts very much like my 80,000 mile Valkyrie, a lot of the same noises and similar clunkiness.
I guess I have a "properly installed" bearing model. But I did buy an extended powertrain warranty. I listen intently for any of the noises & problems that others here on this site have written about, thankfully none have cropped up. 8)

Hey Tropic I bought an extended warranty too. I hate to do that because its usually a rip off, but I was hoping for a little piece of mind after reading all the tranny problems on this site. You guys sure your using the clutch lever? Mine has twice given me a little anxiety when accidentally hitting neutral when downshifting and then grinding going up or down while bike is rolling with clutch in. Once bike is stopped it shifts into gear easily. :? I paid just under $1200 for this aftermarket warranty, but it covers everything on the bike that the factory one did. I purchased it from Triumph at Destination Daytona 90 days before my factory one expired.

hi vinnie, my animal has a problem with 2nd gear it dont jump out but it sort of jumps, its going to the workshop to be sorted soon , its still rideable , i just take it easy in 2nd gear, the mechanic suspects bent selectors, i suspect toss assembly , oh well , 8)

ya

that slight jump in and out is how it started for me they have to break the engine a part to fix it good luck hope it all works out for ya

mine jumps in second too... I have been waiting for it to get worse but it seems to remain the same.... the factory warreny is up in a couple of months, but I don't have real faith the my dealer is going to honor anything and will probably tell me nothing is wrong with it.

First gear

Fu@#! Mine jumps out of first! I have brought it to the dealer twice now. The first time, they adjusted the linkage for the heel/toe shifter. That didn't fix it. The second time...they inverted the linkage. And told me that "it has a constant mesh transmission. Just because the neutral light is out, doesn't mean that it is in gear." WTF!!! One more time to the dealer, and then the phone calls start to Triumph in Atlanta. Thank goodness for extended warranty.
good luck Vinnie...

if i was you, u better get it in fast, because if your dealer is anything like the ones in houston.
it will be there a wile and it cost too much to pay for it out of pocket...
